Lions Soccer Welcomes Bridgeport For Homecoming

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Oct. 14, 2022) - Homecoming Saturday is upon us and Georgian Court Men's Soccer plays host to a new CACC foe.

Previously vs. Bridgeport
• These two teams met last season in a nonconference matchup.
• Both teams scored a goal in each half and the match ended in a 2-2 draw after two overtime periods.
Rhys Cotter scored first for the Lions in the 44th minute to tie the match before the half.
Louis Silva gave the Lions a brief lead in the 77th minute.
• Bridgeport tied things up just 49 seconds later. 

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court controlled play for much of the match, but couldn't find the back of the net.
• GCU had a number of opportunities in tight that just missed and hit the crossbar on two occasions.
• Jefferson finally broke through in the 72nd minute and that proved to be enough in the 1-0 final.
• Ryan Lee had a match-high four shots and three on goal.
• Sam Thombs and Cherif Tammar had three shots each.
