Final Nonconference Game of the Year on Tap for Lions Volleyball

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Oct. 17, 2022) - Georgian Court Volleyball returns to action Tuesday for their final nonconference match of the season. They'll enter riding a two-match winning streak after defeating Wilmington and Alliance last week.

Previously vs. New Haven
• New Haven visited Lakewood last season where they defeated the Lions 3-1.
• The Chargers took the first two sets by the minimum two points.
• GCU dominated set three, 25-7, but then fell in another close set four, 25-22.
• Kinsy Haschke hit .400 with 17 kills and 14 digs.
• Nylene Mateo also popped a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs. 

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court swept CACC foe Alliance to kickoff Homecoming Saturday.
• The Lions had everything working in set one, winning 25-4. Things were closer in sets two and three where the Lions won 25-21 and 29-27.
• The Lions held the advantage in every statistical category. They hit .292 for the match with Alliance hitting .159. GCU almost doubled Alliance in points, 63-35, getting 42 kills and 14 service aces.
• Although she played in just two of the three sets, Nylene Mateo landed a match-high 13 kills and hit .632.
• Emma Gildea scored 10.5 points with seven kills and 3.5 blocks. She hit .312 without an attack error.
• Iciar Zayas passed out 21 assists.
• Jana Borkovic corralled 20 digs.
