BLOOMFIELD, N.J. (Nov. 4, 2022) - Georgian Court Volleyball ended the regular season Friday evening in Bloomfield, N.J. Taking on the Bloomfield Bears, the Lions dropped the first two sets to the CACC North Division leaders before taking the third. They ultimately fell in four sets, 3-1 (20-25, 17-25, 25-22, 14-25). 
How it Happened
• Georgian Court hit more errors than kills, 33-26 for a -.059 attack percentage. Bloomfield hit .175 for the match.
• The two teams were evenly matched in digs and blocks. GCU totaled 43 digs and eight blocks. The Bears tallied 49 digs and nine blocks.
• Both teams struggled on the service line. Bloomfield hit seven aces but also 14 errors. The Lions landed five aces with nine errors. 
• Bloomfield used a 5-0 run to turn a one-point lead into a six-point lead, 11-6, in the opening set. They extended their lead to as much as eight, 21-13, before the Lions cut that in half. Georgian Court got to within four, 22-18, but their comeback bid ran out of time as Bloomfield took a 1-0 lead in the match with a 25-20 win. Georgian Court hit six kills and 10 errors in the set, hitting -.133.
• Similar to set one, the two teams were going back-and-forth at the start of set two. The two teams were tied at seven when the Bears scored three straight for a 10-7 lead. They led the rest of the way as the finished the set on an 18-10 run. The Lions again hit more errors than kills, 9-6.
•  After Bloomfield scored the first three points in the set, Georgian Court responded with four straight of their own. The teams continued to trade points, tying the set multiple times. With the set still tied at 20-all, the Lions scored three straight for a 23-20 lead. 
Nylene Mateo ended the set with a kill at 25-22 to keep GCU in the match.
• The Lions never got out of the gates in set four. Bloomfield scored the first point and started the set on a 9-3 run. They pushed that lead to nine, 14-5 before going on to win 25-14.
