Lions Basketball Hosts College of Staten Island in Final Game Before Break

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Dec. 16, 2022) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball will suit up one final time before the holiday break. They'll be back at home for their third straight nonconference contest.

• This is the first ever meeting between these two teams.

Last Time Out
• It was a Georgian Court first as they took down a Division I program for the first time in team history.
• The Lions defeated Delaware State 75-69 in Dover.
• GCU was red hot in the second half scoring 51 points after trailing by three at the half.
• Clint Wright, Jr. scored 15 points going 6-10 overall and 3-4 from three.
• Jelani Jackson added 15 points as well along with six boards.

• Clint Wright, Jr. has hit double-figure points in every game this season. He's also shot better than 50% in three of his last four games with 12 three-pointers.

• Jelani Jackson reached double-figures in two of his last three games.
Cameron Edmonds is averaging 12.5 points in his last two games going 11-12 at the free throw line. 
• Jamaal Waters is the reigning CACC Defensive Player of the Week. He had a double-double against East Stroudsburg and came away with seven steals last week.

• With two more made three-pointers, Jelani Jackson will become the 10th Lion to make 50 in his career. He's also four points away from 400.
• Shane Williams needs six more assists to get into the GCU all-time top-five. 
Titus Beard is seven rebounds away from 150. 
Shane Williams needs three more field goals to reach 150 and five rebounds to hit 300. 
• With one more field goal, Christian Armstrong-Thomas will have 50 in his career. 

Lions in the CACC
• In CACC games, Georgian Court leads the league in scoring defense allowing just 60 points per game. 
• Jamaal Waters is currently third in the league in field goal percentage shooting 55.7%. He's also fourth grabbing 8.9 rebounds per game. 
• Clint Wright, Jr. is second in the CACC in both free throw percentage at 90.0, and three-point percentage at 44.2.
Jalen Bates' 3.4 assist per game are fourth in the conference. 
• With 3.8 blocks per game, the Lions as a team are fourth in the CACC.

College of Staten Island Dolphins 

• The College of Staten Island is 3-7 through their first 10 games of the season, but have won two of their last three games.
• The Dolphins are coming off of a loss to fellow CACC school Alliance, 97-80, Wednesday night.
