Dominating Performance by Georgian Court University Women as Lions Trounce Felician, 95-70, for Third-Straight Win

Rutherford, N.J. - The Georgian Court University hot streak increased by a few degrees Thursday as the Lions, coming off Wednesday's OT thriller vs. Holy Family, left no doubt of the outcome this time around with a dominating 95-70 dismantling at Felician University in another "must-win" Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) divisional triumph.

GCU, now with a season-long three-game winning streak, moves to 6-7 in conference play (9-11) placing the royal-and-gold right on the heels of HFU (7-7) in the south division standings. The Golden Falcons (9-12 overall) tumble to a second-place tie of 7-5 with Caldwell University in the north division after tonight's tarnishing by the Lions.

The contest belonged to the road team almost from the start as Georgian Court unleashed a 24-9 attack after the initial period of play before coasting into intermission ahead by 22 points at 46-24. Felician saved some face by outscoring its guest in the third quarter, 26-21. However,  it would be too little, too late for the Golden Falcons, as GCU never led by less than 14 points in the final stanza, ending the outing on a 13-2 sprint over the final 3:24.

95 points marks the highest offensive output for the Lions since a 96-84 home victory over the Golden Falcons back on Feb. 29, 2020.

Erika Aspajo seems to have hit her stride as the freshman picked up a double-double on back-to-back nights (third overall) with new career-highs of 25 points (10-16 FG) and 13 assists (four steals) in 35 minutes. Anyssa Fields followed with her own double-double effort, consisting of 14 points and 11 boards. Nerea Brajac netted 19 points in the rout, tying a career-high originally established on Dec. 3, 2019 (vs. Chestnut Hill).

Tian Addison contributed 15 points (complemented by three three-pointers) to go along with eight helpers on the night. Leighanna Lister added 12 points to give the victors five double-digit scoring efforts.

The Lions now take a brief hiatus before visiting Wilmington University (1-16, 1-11 CACC)  Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in a  CACC divisional clash.
