Bloomsburg, Pa.- Georgian Court University, in its first road contest of the season, dropped a 16-14 decision to Bloomsburg University in non-conference NCAA Division II women's lacrosse action.
The Huskies (1-0), taking the field for the first time in 2022, doubled up its guest at the half, 10-5. With both squads netting four scores apiece in the third frame, The Lions pounced for five goals in the fourth, including the final three of the contest, before falling just short of the comeback.
Seven players netted goals for Bloomsburg in the effort, including
Abby Kalish (Sr.-Garnet Valley, Pa.) who paced the Huskies with five goals and one assist.
Kate Roberts (Jr.- Lehman, Pa.)Â followed with three goals.
Kelsey Clauss (Jr.- Cherry Hill, N.J.) and
Annie Rollin (Jr.-Shamong, N.J.) added two goals and one assist, respectively, in the edging.
Madison Coyle (So.- Williamstown, N.J.) followed with two goals while
Cassidy Griffin (So.- Lake Grove, N.J.) and
Maya Fulmer (Fr.- Collegeville, P.A.) added one each.Â
Riley O'Connor topped the Lions this time out with three goals and one assist. Shane Sauter continues to put in the work, scoring three goals for the GCU.
Alyssa Wahl provided a hat trick.
Remi Reinhardt accounted for two goals and one assist.
Heather Devaney collected two tallies and
Sabrina Chandler collected a respectable one goal and one assist.Â
Lauren Foley (Fr.-Schwenksville, Pa.) gathered eight saves in 45:00 of action to earn the goalkeeping victory for Bloomsburg.
Alexis Hahn dazzled in net with fourteen saves for the royal-and-gold.
The Lions (1-2) regroup before heading on the road again this Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference game scheduled at Shippensburg University.
