Lions Still Craving First Victory of Season After 16-6 Road Defeat at #6 Adelphi

Garden City, N.Y. - Playing its third road contest of a four-game stretch away from campus, Georgian Court University visited #6 Adelphi University in non-conference men's lacrosse action. The Panthers proved to be too much for the Lions as the home team ran away with the 16-6 victory.

Adelphi starts its season 1-0 with the triumph while GCU drops to 0-4 to start the year.

The Panthers owned a solid 10-4 cushion after one half of play before the victors poured in another six goals in the second stanza to secure the home win. Adelphi out-shot its guest by a 49-27 margin with a 30-14 advantage on frame.

Fifteen Panthers collected points in the win. Dylan Barry (Sr.-Merrick, N.Y) shined with three goals for the Panthers. Jason Rebaudo (So.-Seaford, N.Y.) provided two goals and one assist of his own. Eamon Hall (So.-Massapequa, N.Y), Michael Paccione (Gr.- Commack, N.Y), and Jack Hipchen (So.- Hoffman Estates, I.L) provided the Panthers with one goal and two assists each, respectively. Kyle Steinbach (Jr.- Garden City, N.Y.) scored one goal and one assist to extend the Panthers' lead. Edward Perlstein (Gr.- Hewlett, N.Y.), Sean McGovern (Gr.- Miller Place, N.Y.), Michael Caiazzo (So.- Locust Valley, N.Y.), Matt Greaves (Jr.- Riverhead, N.Y.), Brian Harinski (So.- Massapequa, N.Y.), Angelo Caiazzo (Gr.- Locust Valley N.Y.), and David Sanzone (Sr.- East Meadow, N.Y.) also contributed with one goal each. Brian Hoerter (Gr,- New Hyde Park N.Y.) and James Hall (Gr.-Massapequa, N.Y.) both had one assist on the day. 

Michael Ventresca and Devin Bell topped the team with two goals apiece. Daniel Burnham accounted for one goal and one assist. Tallen Smith added a tally to give the sophomore a team-leading six goals over the Lions' first four outings.

Dylan Renner (So.-Roslyn Heights, N.Y.) earned the win with eight saves. Despite the outcome, Sebastian Farah (0-3) still collected fourteen saves between the Georgian Court pipes.

The Lions next goes to Manchester, N.H. to play #9 Saint Anselm College on Saturday at 11 a.m.
