Lions Stick it to STAC With 18-5 Men's Lacrosse Road Win Over Spartans

Sparkill, N.Y. - Nine different Lions recorded tallies Tuesday afternoon as Georgian Court University recorded its second victory of the season, an 18-5 non-conference road triumph at Saint Thomas Aquinas College.

Now a perfect 8-0 all-time vs. STAC, GCU improves to 2-8 on the year with the performance. The home team slips to 1-7 overall.

Netting eight of the contest's first nine scoring efforts, the royal-and-gold owned an 8-3 cushion at intermission. Georgian Court proceeded to dominate the second stanza, 10-2, which included seven-straight goals at one point. The Lions owned the shot column, 58-21, while doubling its foe when it came to ground balls (50-23) and face-offs (18-9).

GCU's top-scorer, Michael Ventresca, paced the victors with five goals in the rout. James Sanford, after netting a hat trick Saturday at Post University, duplicated the effort on this day while also adding a helper. Devin Bell (two assists), Daniel Burnham (assist), and Millan Webster each collected a pair of goals apiece while DaShawn Lamar-Baldwin sent in the first of his career for the Lions.

Sebastian Farah, with five total saves over 44:43 of work, records his second goalkeeping triumph of the year.

The Lions now remain idle until next Wednesday, March 30, when the squad travels to the University of the District of Columbia for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
