Men's Lacrosse Drops 20-10 Decision at Chestnut Hill in CACC Rival Game ... Postseason Status Hanging in the Balance

Lafayette Hill, Pa. - Georgian Court University's postseason chances took a gut punch Wednesday evening as the Lions suffered a doubling up at Chestnut Hill College, 20-10, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's lacrosse action.

The Griffins (8-6, 4-1 CACC) opened with a 7-3 lead after one period of play, and scooted to a 13-6 surplus at intermission. Chestnut Hill padded its cushion at 17-7 after the third frame in a contest CHC comfortably controlled the entire evening.

Despite the final score, GCU still managed to out-shoot the victors, 45-44. The Griffins owned the all-important shots-on-goal advantage, 32-24.

J.R. Howell (four goals, four assists), Maurice Kelly (three goals, four assists), and Ben Revak (five goals, assist) provided a majority of the offensive damage in the win for CHC. Daniel Burnham (four goals) and Tallen Smith (goal, three assists) each authored four-point performances for the Lions.

Andrew Candino collected 12 saves in 45:00 of action between the GCU pipes.

Georgian Court (5-10, 2-3 CACC) now faces a must-win scenario this Saturday as the Lions close out the regular-season with an 11:00 a.m. home contest vs. Dominican College.
