Transfer Student-Athlete, Kate Clemente, Commits to Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse Class of '24

Lakewood, N.J. - Head Coach Samantha Hosford announced today that Kate Clemente of Shrewsbury, Mass. is the newest member of the Georgian Court University Women's Lacrosse Class of 2024.

Clemente, an incoming junior transfer student-athlete, joins the Lions after playing her first two collegiate campaigns with fellow CACC institution, Post University, in Waterbury, Conn.

"We are looking forward to adding Kate as a transfer student-athlete to our roster this season." stated Coach Hosford. "She has experience and knowledge of playing in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, which will add value to our team. Kate's athleticism and speed will help elevate our midfield. She is a versatile player as she has played both attack and midfield. As an upperclassman, her lacrosse IQ will help aid our team with fresh ideas for both ends of the ball ... we are excited to see what she will bring to the table!"

Kate saw action in 10 contests (three starts) with Post this spring, registering three goals and a pair of helpers. The newcomer owns an even four tallies and four helpers in 17 career appearances for the Eagles. Also a solid student in the classroom, Clemente earned selection to the dean's list in each of her collegiate years.

A four-year high honor roll student at Shrewsbury High School, the business administration major (and future business owner) is ready to "showcase" her talents and "become a better lacrosse player" when she joins the royal-and-gold this fall.
