Felician's 80th Minute Goal the Difference in Lions 1-0 Loss

RUTHERFORD, NJ (Oct. 19, 2023) - Georgian Court started a three-game road trip Thursday afternoon against one of the top teams in the CACC. Felician entered 6-0 in league play and scored a late goal to escape with another win and send the Lions home with a 1-0 loss. The loss puts GCU at 4-7-2 this season and 3-4-1 in the CACC.

How it Happened

• The first 10 minutes of the game saw Felician on the attack. They nearly broke out in the first minute of the match, but were called back for offsides.

• Georgian Court kept up the offensive pressure throughout much of the half. They led in shots 10-7 for the first 45 minutes.
• Towards the close of the period, Felician had some chances with two shots and two corner kicks, but nothing found its way to the net and the half ended without a goal on the board.
• The start of the second half was more of a defensive battle than the first. Early on, each team got a shot off that the respective netminder gobbled up.
• Throughout most of the second half, shots were at a premium. After 17 total first half shots, there were just 12 in the second.
• The Golden Falcons were able to break through with a little more than 10 minutes remaining. They got into the offensive zone and earned a corner kick opportunity. Following the corner kick, Andy Alvarez was able to beat Krissler with the game's only goal.
