Regular Season Comes to a Close Tomorrow Afternoon for Lions Volleyball

Previously vs. Post
• This is will be the 30th all-time meeting between Georgian Court and Post.
• All-time the Lions are 17-12.
• GCU has won the last three meetings. The Lions have also won the last three in Connecticut dating back to 2017.
• Last year in Lakewood, GCU cruised to a 3-1 win. 
Nylene Mateo hit a game-high 16 kills while Amiyah Woods landed 11 and hit .647 for the match. 

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court kept their season alive with a five-set win over Chestnut Hill.
• GCU won the first two sets and looked to be in a good spot, but the Griffins answered to tie the match at two.
• The Lions showed their resolve though with a 15-9 win in set five to win the match.
Martina Croce led the Lions with 13 kills.
Chelsea Ross had 12.5 points with seven kills and nine blocks.

• Martina Croce has at least eight kills in 11 straight matches and 12+ in three of her last four .
• Dayna Diaz has stepped in at setter to average 9.1 assists per set in her last five matches. 
• Giorgia Cappelletti has double-figure kills in eight straight contests and 15+ digs in five straight. 
• Chelsea Ross has 32 blocks in her last six matches and is hitting .409 in her last five matches. She had a career-high 14 kills against Dominican and nine kills against Chestnut Hill.
• Carmen Rivera is averaging 4.7 digs per set over the last two matches.

• Jessica Sprankle will move into the all-time top-five at GCU for service aces with three more. She's also five sets away from playing in 400 at GCU.
• Giorgia Cappelletti needs 11 digs to get to 300 this season. 
Dayna Diaz will get to 400 assists with 12 more. 

Playoff Picture
• There is only one spot left to be determined in the CACC Tournament and it comes down to the Lions and Holy Family.
• The scenario is easy for the Lions. A win over Post puts them into the postseason.
• A loss from Holy Family will also be enough to get in. 
• Should the Lions advance, they do already know who their first round opponent would be. That's Bridgeport who has already locked up the No. 1 spot in the CACC North. 

About Post
• Post has seven wins on the season and six are in CACC play. 
• The Eagles have already clinched a spot in the CACC Tournament. They'll be the No. 4 seed in the North Division.
• Four of the Eagles six CACC wins have come against teams who will not be in the postseason tournament.
• Defensively, Post is second in the conference coming up with 16.3 digs per set. Alyssa Groves is second as an individual digging up 5.18 per set. 
• The Eagles are also second in the CACC and 13th in the nation with 229 service aces this season. Izabella Rae has 47 to lead the team. She also leads Post with 5.02 assists per set.
• Caley Harper is landing 3.28 kills per set to lead the team. 
• Post as a team is giving up 1.57 blocks per set while putting back 1.08. Hannah Brandt has 47 to lead the team including 14 solo blocks.
