ERIE, PA. (Nov. 25, 2023) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball played for the second time in as many days Saturday night in Erie, Pa. at the Gary Miller Classic. Taking on the Davenport Panthers, the Lions fell 97-72, going 0-2 on the weekend and fall to 1-4 this season.
How it Happened
• Davenport had a tremendous shooting night hitting 65.4% from the floor and 54.5% from three.
• Georgian Court shot well themselves, especially in the second half. They shot 47.7% overall but were just 5-15 from behind the arc.
• The Lions were at a major disadvantage on the glass. They totaled 20 while Davenport grabbed 32.Â
• GCU cleaned up the turnovers. One night after having their most in a game this season, they turned it over just eight times, the fewest thus far in 2023-24.
First Half
• Davenport scored the first points of the game and never trailed. They got ahead 12-3 within the first five minutes of the game.
• Back-to-back
Clint Wright, Jr. baskets got the lead down to seven with eight to play in the half, but that was followed by a 12-0 Panther run.
• Over the last 7:47, Davenport outscored the Lions 26-7 and led 51-25 at the half.
Second Half
• Georgian Court shot better than 50% in the second half, but Gannon continued to make baskets.
• The Lions scored 47, actually outscoring the Panthers by one, but that wasn't nearly enough.
• In the second half, the two teams were a combined 32-54 overall as the Panthers went on to win 97-72.

Taheen Braswell-Brown led all scorers with 18 points. He also added four rebounds.

Clint Wright, Jr. scored 17 with two three-pointers.

Justin Harper was 6-7 from the floor for 14 points.
For the Panthers
• Marcedus Leech, Jr. scored 15.
• James Felton had a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double.
• Luke Bara and Myles Belyeu also scored 14.
