It's Senior Day For Lions Men's Basketball vs. Wilmington

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Feb. 17, 2023) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball returns home for the final time this season holding Senior Day in the penultimate game of the regular season.

Senior Day
• Prior to the game Georgian Court will recognize their senior class of 2023. The class consists of three student-athletes: Titus Beard, Jelani Jackson and Shane Williams

Previously vs. Wilmington
• In one of the best games of the season, Georgian Court went to Wilmington and defeated the Wildcats 93-86. 
• Both teams were lights out from the floor as Georgian Court shot 60.8% for the game and 54.5% from three. Wilmington did most of their damage inside. They were 55.4% shooting overall but just 5-19 from behind the arc.
• Wilmington led 43-40 after the first half, but GCU outscored them 53-43 in the second. 
Jelani Jackson scored five points in the final two minutes to put the game out of reach in the Lions favor.
• Jamaal Waters led GCU going 7-10 from the floor and 6-8 at the line for 20 points.
• Cameron Edmonds didn't miss from three going 4-4 for 19 points.
• Clint Wright, Jr. scored 17 with four assists.
• Jalen Bates scored six points with five rebounds and eight assists.
• Jelani Jackson chipped in 15 and Shane Williams scored 11. 

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court looked for the season sweep of Jefferson but it wasn't to be in a 78-59 loss in Philadelphia Tuesday night.
• Jefferson shot better than 50% for the game hitting on 24-46 and were 10-25 from three. Georgian Court was 20-54 overall and 6-25 from behind the arc.
• The Rams closed the first half on a 12-3 run in the final 2:51 to go up by 15 at the break. 
• Jamaal Waters led the Lions scoring 17 points and finished a rebound shy of a double-double.
• Clint Wright, Jr. added 12 points connecting on 3-7 from three. 
• Cameron Edmonds went 2-5 from deep and scored nine points with five boards.
• Jalen Bates chipped in four points, three assists, four steals and two rebounds. 

Who's Hot?
• Jamaal Waters has reached double-figures in 12 of his last 13 games. 
• Clint Wright, Jr. is 7-14 from behind the arc the last two games. 
Hassan Jackson has made two field goals in four straight games. 
Cameron Edmonds is averaging more than six rebounds per game in his last three. 

Individual Milestones
• Shane Williams will get into the GCU top-five in career rebounds with five more. He's also nine points away from the all-time top-10 in scoring. 
• Titus Beard needs one more assists to get into the Lions all-time top-five. 
Jamaal Waters needs 22 more field goals for the most in a single-season at GCU. He also needs one more block for sole possession of third on the single-season list. 
• With four more three-pointers, Cameron Edmonds will make the single-season top-five.
Jalen Bates needs four more assists to become the second Lion to dish out 100 in a season. 

Lions in the CACC (statistic minimums set by NCAA)
• Under the basket, Georgian Court's 11.64 offensive rebounds are fourth-best in the league. 
• Defensively, GCU's 7.8 steals rank fifth in the conference. 
• Jamaal Waters has moved to fourth in the CACC scoring 16.7 points per game. He's also third shooting 53.2% overall. 
• Jalen Bates' 3.8 assists per game are fourth in the conference. His 2.0 steals per game are also third in the league. 
• Clint Wright, Jr. has made the fourth-most three-pointers in the CACC this season at 64. 

Playoff Picture
• Things are getting tighter in the CACC South Division. Jefferson is the only team to clinch a playoff spot at 10-5.
• Chestnut Hill is in second place with an 8-7 record. They're followed by Goldey-Beacom (7-7), Georgian Court (7-8) and Wilmington (6-8) with only three of those four teams advancing.
• The Lions final two games are against two of those three teams, at Chestnut Hill and home against Wilmington.

• Wilmington is 14-11 this season and 6-8 in league play. 
• The Wildcats have won six of their last nine and are 7-6 playing on the road. 
• Three Wildcats are scoring in double figures led by Randy Rickards at 14.8 points per game. Justin Thomas is right behind scoring 13.2 points and Amiri Stewart is scoring 11.3.
• Stewart is the son of Lions coach Terrence Stewart. He's been hot of late with 10+ points in nine of his last 11.
