TUCSON, Ariz. (Feb, 19, 2023) - Georgian Court Softball finished their weekend in the desert with a 10-1 win in six innings over Minnesota-Crookston. The win ends the Lions time at the Cactus Classic with a 3-2 mark.
How it Happened
• Georgian Court scored 10 runs on nine hits while holding the Golden Eagles to just a run on four.
• GCU didn't make an error in the field while MSU-Crookston made two, leading to two runs.
• Each team got a run on the board in the first.
Adriana Mungo drove home
Taylor Lipkins and two batters into the game the Lions led 1-0.
• The Golden Eagles tied things with an RBI single following a one-out walk and a passed ball.
• Georgian Court grabbed the lead in the third with three runs on one hit.
Kili Makanani had the only hit of the inning to drive in Mungo. A sacrifice fly and a wild pitch allowed the other two runs to cross the plate.
• Mungo added to the lead with a ground rule double in the fourth and an RBI ground out made it 7-1 in favor of the Lions.
• After a scoreless fifth, GCU tacked on three more in the sixth.
Jayda Jones doubled home Trinty Moreno and the Lions used a pair of productive outs, two more sacrifice flies to score two more runs.
• Georgian Court kept the Golden Eagles off the board in the sixth and everyone went home early with a 10-1 win in six innings.

• GCU finished the Cactus Classic with a mark of 3-2. They hit .323 in five games with a .398 on base percentage.
• The Lions pitched to a 3.86 ERA while opponents gave up 33 runs in 32 innings.
