BUFFALO, NY (Feb. 19, 2023) - Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse earned their first win of the season Sunday afternoon. 

How it Happened
• Georgian Court led the game in shots, 33-25 and shots on goal, 22-16.
• The Lions were successful on 4-9 free position shots while the Saints converted 2-4.
• Draw controls were split with the Lions winnings 16 and D'Youville 15.
• D'Youville picked up 11 ground balls and turned it over four times. The Lions committed just three turnovers and scooped five grounders. 
• D'Youville started the scoring, netting the first goal of the game 80 seconds in.
• Georgian Court then ripped off four straight goals, two apiece from Alyssa Wahl and Remi Reinhardt in an eight minute span.
• The Lions put three more on the board before the end of the first. Wahl scored her third of the period and Kasha Elzinga and Jade Rivera scored a free position goal to make it 7-2 after 15 minutes.
• Just 63 seconds into the second period, Wahl scored her fourth goal of the game. 
• The two teams exchanged goals before the Lions closed out the half scoring five goals in the final 6:41. Rivera scored twice more, Elzinga added another and Riley O'Connor and Caitlin Petrellese got their first of the game. Isabel Raimondi assisted on two of the five goals and the Lions led 14-4.
• The goal scoring slowed down in the second half. D'Youville actually outscored the Lions 3-1 in the frame. O'Connor with another assist from Raimondi put GCU on top 15-4 five minutes in.
• The Saints kept the Lions off the board for the final 10:12. They scored three straight to get to within 15-7 after three quarters.
• D'Youville made it four straight goals to start the fourth, but Georgian Court put the game away scoring three of the next four. Raimondi, O'Connor and Wahl all scored in the fourth.
• The Saints finished the game with three goals in the final three minutes, but it was too little, too late as the Lions claimed victory, 18-12. 

Lion Stat Leaders
• Alyssa Wahl finished the game with five goals and an assist.
• Jade Rivera and Riley O'Connor each scored three goals with an assist.
• Isabel Raimondi totaled five points with a pair of goals and three assists.
• Kasha Elzinga and Remi Reinhardt each netted two goals.
• Alexis Hahn stopped four shots in goal.

For the Saints
• Madison Handley scored four goals on seven shots.
• Sam Newlin and Sydney Gordon each scored three times. Gordon assisted on two more.
• Madison Buck totaled five points with a team-best three assists and scored a pair.
• Brinn Stworzydlak made four saves.

News and Notes
• Riley O'Connor scored her 75th career goal.
• Isabel Raimondi netted her 25th career goal.
• This was the Lions first ever meeting with D'Youville.
• Georgian Court outscored the Saints 7-2 in both the first and second quarters.
