TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 27, 2023) - Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse started their trip to Florida taking on the No. 2 team in the country, the Tampa Spartans. The Lions put forth a solid effort, but in the end, Tampa came out with a 22-7 win.
How it Happened
• Tampa totaled 44 shots with 35 finding their way to the net. Georgian Court put 15 of their 19 shots on goal.
• On the draw, Tampa won 25-of-32. They were 2-4 on free-position shots while the Lions didn't attempt one.
• The Spartans scooped up 18 ground ball while the Lions got to 11.
• Turnover numbers were even with the Lions committing 12 and the Spartans 11.
• Tampa scored early and often in the opening period. Their first goal came 55 seconds into the game.
• The Spartans put up seven goals in the first period while keeping the Lions off the scoreboard.
• The Lions finally found the back of the net five minutes into the second. Following a turnover caused by
Jade Rivera,
Remi Reinhardt scored to make it 8-1.
• GCU scored three times in the second period, getting another goal from Reinhardt and one from
Kasha Elzinga.
• Tampa added five more in the second taking a 12-3 lead into the half.
• Coming out of intermission, Tampa put another six on the board in the third period and four in the fourth.

Alyssa Wahl scored the Lions lone goal in the third.

Remi Reinhardt completed the hat trick with a goal in the fourth and
Riley O'Connor added two in the final period as well.

Remi Reinhardt led the Lions scoring three goals on four shots. She also grabbed two ground balls.

Riley O'Connor scored twice and led GCU with nine shots, five on goal.

Alyssa Wahl added two goals and scooped two grounders.
•
Caitlin Petrellese picked up a team-best four ground balls.
•
Jade Rivera caused a pair of turnovers.
•
Alexis Hahn made 10 saves in in goal.

• Grace Colombo scored three goals and added an assist.
• Cece Colombo put up three goals as well and nabbed three grounders.
• Sarah Hinkle recorded a hat trick on a team-high nine shots.
• Allie Peebles took three shots and scored all three times.
• Olivia Mott scored four points with a goal and three assists.
• Alex Walling totaled eight saves in net.
