Lions Prep For First CACC Tournament Game Since 2020

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Feb. 27, 2023) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball makes their second postseason appearance in program history tomorrow when they play in the quarterfinal round of the CACC Tournament.

How to Watch
• Tuesday's game will be available to watch via a free-to-view broadcast on the Georgian Court portal page of the CACC Digital Network powered by HUDL. Live stats are also available at GCULions.com.
• The CACC is also airing the CACC Full Court Press Broadcast Tuesday. The broadcast will be similar to the NFL Redzone Channel as the CACC Network will provide live look-ins during each of the men's and women's quarterfinal round games. 
• The broadcast will begin at 5 p.m. (ET) on Tuesday night with a pre-game show setting the stage for that night's action. Games will begin at either 5:30, 6, or 7:30 p.m., and the show will remain on air until all quarterfinal games are completed that night. A recap will conclude the show by going over final numbers from Tuesday and setting the stage for CACC Championship Weekend from March 4-5, at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pa.

Previously vs. Bloomfield
• These two teams met earlier this season in Bloomfield.
• The high-scoring affair saw the Bears come out on top 98-88. 
• Bloomfield got out to a 47-37 halftime lead before both teams scored 51 in the second half.
• Each team was hot from distance with the Lions making 13 and the Bears 12.
• Bloomfield had the advantage underneath leading in rebounding, 47-38, points in the paint 32-24 and blocked shots 9-1. 
• Clint Wright, Jr. was 5-8 from three and scored 19.
• Jamaal Waters added a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
• Jelani Jackson added 15 points off the bench connecting on 3-7 from deep.
• Shane Williams chipped in 10 points.
• Jalen Bates scored eight with two rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Last Time Out
• The Lions ended the season on a high note going into Chestnut Hill and defeating the Griffins 67-58.
• Georgian Court outscored the Griffins 38-22 in the second-half to overcome a seven-point halftime deficit. 
• GCU's defense held the Griffins to just 27% shooting over all and 1-25 from behind the arc.
• Clint Wright, Jr. had the hot hand scoring a game-high 25 points going 10-16 overall and 5-8 from behind the arc. He also grabbed seven rebounds.
• Cameron Edmonds added 17 off the bench scoring at the foul line where he wsa 6-7. He grabbed six boards and dished out a team-best four assists as well.
• Also off the bench, Hassan Jackson was 5-7 for 10 points.
• Jamaal Waters scored seven points and pulled down 11 rebounds.

Who's Hot?
• Jamaal Waters has 10+ rebounds in back-to-back games. 
• Clint Wright, Jr. scored a season-high 25 points against Chestnut Hill going 10-16 overall and 5-8 from three. 
• Cameron Edmonds is averaging 11.6 points in his last five games.
Hassan Jackson was 5-7 for 10 points in the season finale. 

Milestones
• Shane Williams is 14 minutes away from playing 2000 in his career. He'll become just the sixth Lion to ever do that. He also needs one more three-pointer to become the fourth Lion to ever make 80.
• Jamaal Waters needs 12 more field goals for the most in a single-season at GCU. 
• With one more three-pointer, Cameron Edmonds will make the single-season top-five.
• Jelani Jackson can become the sixth Lion to ever make 70 career three-pointers with three more. 
Clint Wright, Jr. is closing in on 300 made field goals needing four more. Only five Lions have ever made that many. He's also looking to become the fifth Lion to score 900 career points. 

Lions in the CACC (statistic minimums set by NCAA)
• Under the basket, Georgian Court's 11.67 offensive rebounds are fourth-best in the league. 
• Georgian Court is fifth-best in the league shooting 34.4% from three. 
• The Lions are back in the top three in the conference holding opponents to 31.5% from behind the arc. 
• Jamaal Waters has moved to fourth in the CACC scoring 16.6 points per game. He's also fourth shooting 52.7% overall. 
• Jalen Bates' 3.7 assists per game are fifth in the conference. His 1.89 steals per game are also third in the league. 
• Clint Wright, Jr. has made the fourth-most three-pointers in the CACC this season at 73. 

CACC Playoffs
• Georgian Court is the number three seed in the CACC South Division. 
• They finished the regular season at 8-9 and clinched the third seed by tie-breaker over Wilmington who also finished 8-9.
• The four quarterfinal round winners will all head to Philadelphia, Pa. this weekend. Should the Lions advance, they'd play the winner of No. 1 South Jefferson vs. No. 4 North Post.
• This is the second time the Lions have made the CACC Postseason. They were a number four seed in 2020 against No. 1 in the North Dominican where they fell 80-50. 

About the Opponent
Bloomfield Bears
• Bloomfield climbed the CACC standings winning six straight to finish the regular season.
• They ended the year 17-10 overall and 13-5 in the CACC.
• During the six-game winning streak, Bloomfield is averaging 91 points per game. Overall they're second in the CACC scoring 80.8 points per contest.
• Bloomfield is one of the best rebounding teams in the country. They lead the CACC and are No. 2 in the country coming down with 44.2 rebounds per game.
• Where Bloomfield struggles is with turnovers. They rank last in the league with a -2.9 turnover margin, and commit nearly 15 per game. 
• Edward Ngene is a driving force of their defense. He's blocked 56 shots and his 2.33 blocks per game are eighth in Division II.
• Andres Fulgencio and Josh Morris lead the offense. Fulgencio scores 16 per game, shooting 45% from three with 81 triples this season.
• Morris is scoring 15.6 points per game while shooting 47.5%.
