LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Feb. 3, 2023) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball returns home for a mini two-game homestand starting Saturday afternoon.

Previously vs. Dominican
• Georgian Court is looking for their first ever program win over Dominican. The Lions are 0-10 against the Chargers in their history. 
• A year ago, the Lions held tough against the Chargers, but ultimately fell 60-54. 
• Georgian Court never led in the game, but also kept it within 10 points all 40 minutes.
• GCU struggled shooting just 32.1% overall and were 3-12 from behind the arc.
Olisa Ngonadi led the team with 15 points while Davon Floyd added 12.

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court played their final nonconference game of the season. They fell at Southern Connecticut 73-65.
• SCSU turned a one-point lead into an 11-point lead on the strength of a 12-2 run late in the first half.
• They never trailed after that and maintained a two-possession lead throughout the second half.
• Clint Wright, Jr. led the Lions scoring 19 points going 7-15 overall.
• Jamaal Waters secured another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. He also blocked two shots.
• Jalen Bates scored eight with seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.
• Shane Williams added seven points.

Who's Hot?
• Jamaal Waters has reached double-figures in nine straight with double-doubles in four straight games.  
• Clint Wright, Jr. is heating up from behind the arc with 16 in his last four games. 
• Jalen Bates is averaging 8.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 4.0 steals over his last three games. 
Cameron Edmonds has at least one three-pointer in nine straight games. 

Individual Milestones
• Clint Wright, Jr. is closing in on 150 career three-point field goals needing three more and seven points will bring him to 800. 
• Jelani Jackson is one three-pointers away from 60 for his career. He'll be the 10th Lion to reach that milestone. He's also four points away from 500.
• With one more point, Christian Armstrong-Thomas will hit 150 in his career. 
• Jalen Bates will set the GCU all-time record for single season steals with five more. He's also five rebounds shy of 100 this season. 
Titus Beard will collect the 150th rebound of his career with four more. 

Lions in the CACC (statistic minimums set by NCAA)
• Teams are shooting just 31.5% against GCU from three, third-best in the conference and 39th in the nation. 
• Under the basket, Georgian Court's 11.76 offensive rebounds are fourth-best in the league. 
• Defensively, GCU's 8.1 steals rank third in the conference. 
• Jamaal Waters has moved to fourth in the CACC scoring 16.6 points per game. He's also fourth shooting 53.1% overall. His 3.45 offensive rebounds per game lead the league and are 14th in Division II. 
• Clint Wright, Jr. is second in the CACC and 15th in the country in free throw percentage hitting 90%. He's also fourth hitting 38.7% from behind the arc. 
• Jalen Bates' 4.3 assists per game are second in the conference. He's also averaging 3.64 steals per 40 minutes, best in the league. 

Playoff Picture
• With just six games left, Georgian Court continues their push for the postseason. At 6-5 they are currently in second-place in the CACC South Division.
• The top four teams in the South Division make the tournament.
• Jefferson leads the division at 8-3, followed by the Lions and then three teams with five wins in a tight battle for the final spots.

About the Opponent
Dominican Chargers

• Dominican had been ranked in the NBCA top-25 for much of the early part of the season. They fell out after hitting a snag and dropping four straight. All four of those losses were by seven points or less and three of four were by five or less. 
• The Chargers are still 17-5 overall and 8-4 in the CACC. They've since picked up back-to-back wins.
• Playing on the road, Dominican is 8-3.
• Dominican is one of the top three-point shooting teams in the country. They hit 39.8%, best in the CACC and 20th in the country.
• In addition to their three-point prowess, the Chargers are also second in the CACC shooting 46.4% overall and 74.3% at the free throw line. 
• The Chargers are scoring 77 points per game and giving up 73.6.
• Three Chargers are scoring in double-figures led by Wahaad Johnson a redshirt senior with 16.1 points per contest.
