Georgian Court Wins 50th Straight CACC Regular Season Game in Grand Fashion, 26-4 Over Chestnut Hill

LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 28, 2023) - April 16, 2016. That's the last time Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse lost a CACC regular season game. 2,538 days without a loss. Six years, 11 months and 13 days unbeaten in conference play. That streak continued today and reached 50 consecutive wins with the Lions defeating Chestnut Hill 26-4. Not only is it the Lions 50th straight CACC regular season win, but it's their fourth straight win of this season as GCU improves to 5-5 overall and 4-0 to start league play.

How it Happened
• Georgian Court controlled play with the ball in the offensive end for most of the afternoon. They totaled 53 shots with 41 on the cage and 26 goals. CHC totaled 10 shots, nine on net with four getting past the keeper.
• The play was in the GCU offensive end for so long because the Lions were effective on the draw. They won 27-of-34 draw controls. 
• Chestnut Hill turned the ball over 17 times and were 13-of-19 on clear attempts. The Lions committed just 10 turnovers going 14-16 on clears.
• Ground balls also favored GCU as they doubled up the Griffins 22-11.
• The game started out with Georgian Court getting two goals in the first 60 seconds. Jade Rivera and Remi Reinhardt each put one in with with Reinhardt's coming from a free-position shot.
• A GCU penalty left the Lions a player-down for two minutes. That didn't stop the Lion offense though as Rivera scored shorthanded for a 3-0 lead.
• Alyssa Wahl scored twice in the final nine minutes of the first period and after one quarter, GCU led 6-0.
• Starting the second, Chestnut Hill got two goals back. Madyson Schwartz scored twice just 16 seconds apart, once on a free position shot to make it a 6-2 game.
• The Lions outscored CHC 5-1 to finish the half though, getting five goals from four scorers as Riley O'Connor and Kasha Elzinga each scored their first of the game.
• Georgian Court kept their foot on the gas in the second half. They scored eight straight, cashing in three free-position shots, one of them with a player advantage. 
• In the fourth the GCU defense shined keeping Chestnut Hill off the board. The Lions outscored the Griffins 7-0 in the period and finished the second half outscoring CHC 15-1 as they cruised to a 26-4 win.

Lion Stat Leaders
• Alyssa Wahl led GCU scoring 12 points netting seven goals and helping out with five assists. 
• Riley O'Connor scored a game-high nine points and caused two turnovers. 
• Isabel Raimondi recorded another hat trick with three goals and three assists.
• Remi Reinhardt was almost unstoppable on the draw. She won 19 draw controls while also tallying two goals and two assists.
• Kasha Elzinga scored twice and grabbed four ground balls.
• Jade Rivera chipped in two goals and three grounders.
• Kelsey Naclerio, the reigning CACC Defensive Player of the Week, picked up four ground balls and caused two turnovers.
• Alexis Hahn got the win making four saves in net over three quarters. 

For the Griffins
• Madyson Schwartz scored three of the Griffins four goals.
• Danielle Vassallo scored a goal and helped out with an assist.
• Molly Killion scooped three ground balls.
• Mel Amador made 15 saves.

News and Notes
• As previously mentioned, this is Georgian Court's 50th straight CACC regular season win. 
• The winning streak is the second longest active conference winning streak in Division II begin Regis out of the Rocky Mountain Conference with 107 consecutive.
• Two Lions scored their 100th career points. Alyssa Wahl and Isabel Raimondi each passed the century mark.
• Wahl's five assists also move her into the GCU all-time top-10. 
• Riley O'Connor's nine goals are a new career-high. It's the most goals for a Lion in a single game since Samantha Fernandez in 2019.
• In that same game as Fernandez's nine goals, Nicole Barbella totaled 12 points. Wahl's 12 today match Barbella for the most points in a game since that time.
• Georgian Court's 26 goals are the most they've scored in a game since 2012 against then-Philadelphia University, now Jefferson. 
• Jade Rivera scored her 25th career goal.
• Kelsey Naclerio recorded her 50th career caused turnover.
• Remi Reinhardt surpassed 30 goals.
