LAKEWOOD, NJ (May 3, 2023) - Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse used a strong second half to turn away Holy Family in Round One of the CACC Tournament. With the 15-10 win, GCU advances to the CACC semifinal round this weekend.
How it Happened
• Holy Family had a big edge in draw controls winning 20-of-29.
• What helped out the Lions were the 23 Tiger turnovers. GCU turned it over just 15 times.Â
• Shot totals were even at 29-apiece.
• Ground ball numbers were also very close with GCU picking up 20 and HFU 21.Â
• Georgian Court was called for four penalties and Holy Family scored on two of those. GCU was 1-2 with the advantage.
First Half
• It was a low-scoring first quarter and even though Holy Family put two balls in the net, the game was tied 1-1 after 15 minutes.
• With just under 10 minutes to play,
Remi Reinhardt drove towards the net. The ball was dislodged but kicked in by a Holy Family defender as the Lions went up 1-0.
• The Tigers tied things with five minutes to play in the first and that's how things stood after one quarter.
• Things opened up in the second quarter with nine total goals.
Riley O'Connor broke the 1-1 tie with a goal on the advantage, but Holy Family scored two straight taking a 3-2 lead with 11:18 left in the half.
• Georgian Court grabbed the lead right back scoring three straight with goals from O'Connor,
Ashley Pringle and
Isabel Raimondi.
• With the Lions up two, 6-4 following O'Connor's third goal of the half, Holy Family got one on the player-advantage with just 49 seconds to play in the half and after 30 minutes the Lions led by just one, 6-5.Â
Second Half
• Holy Family scored two of the first three goals in the third and the game was once again tied up at seven-all.
• O'Connor quickly untied though just 16 seconds later. That started a stretch of three straight goals for the Lions.
Remi Reinhardt put GCU up three, 10-7 with less than a minute to play in the third.
• The Tigers scored quickly to start the fourth quarter getting back to within two. The game remained 10-8 for about five minutes until
Isabel Raimondi pushed the lead back to three.
• Raimondi's goal started a 4-0 run for the Lions who were able to put the game away late going up by as much as six, 14-8, and winning by five, 15-10.

• In goal the newly crowned CACC Goalkeeper of the Year
Alexis Hahn made 10 saves.

Isabel Raimondi scored a team-high six points with four goals and two assists. She also caused a pair of turnovers and grabbed two ground balls.

Riley O'Connor also scored four goals. She won three draw controls.
•
Alyssa Wahl totaled five points with two goals and three assists.Â
•
Remi Reinhardt added three goals and won five draw controls.
•
Kelsey Naclerio caused six turnovers while also picking up five ground balls.
For the Tigers
• Lynn Hardy scored three goals and won nine draw controls.
• Tatceyana Pulley added a pair and an assist.
• Mackenzie Santucci scored twice with four draw controls and two grounders.Â
• Tori Wolstenholme caused four turnovers and picked up three ground balls.
• Emma Hurley made seven saves.
News and Notes

Alyssa Wahl played in her 50th career game. She also entered the Lions all-time top-10 in points and surpassed 200 career shots.
•
Kelsey Naclerio hit 100 career ground balls.Â
• The Lions 17 caused turnovers and Naclerio's six are single-game highs this season. It was the most caused turnovers for GCU since March 1, 2020 against Slippery Rock.
