Pair of Lions Lacrosse Student-Athletes Represent USA Overseas

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Aug. 21, 2023) - Earlier this summer, two Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse student-athletes embarked on an unforgettable journey around the world. Kelsey Naclerio and Isabel Raimondi were two of a select group of women's lacrosse student-athletes to represent the United States on an American International Sports Teams (AIST) UK Lacrosse Tour.

The tour saw the team visit the countries of Dublin, Ireland, Chester, England, and Edinburgh, Scotland. The teams played a number of games, including at least one in each city among the many site-seeing stops and cultural explorations.

In Dublin, the team's first games were played against the Eire Women's Team at St. Belindus College. While also in Dublin, the tour took stops at the historic Guinness Brewery, a hike of the Wicklow Mountains National Park in beautiful Glendalough, Ireland and a night of dinner and Celtic dancing at the renowned Arlington Hotel. The Celtic Night celebration showcases the essence of Ireland's 'sean nos' (old style) Irish dance, along with the captivating Brush Dance. The showcase delves into the rich history of Irish music, providing a deep connection Irish cultural heritage.

From Ireland, the team headed to Chester in England by way of ferry across the Irish Sea. In Chester, the team played once again, this time at the Oxton Lacrosse Club for single games as well as the Patricia Spencer Memorial Lacrosse Tournament. Following their games, the team was provided with refreshments and enjoyed the evenings in England.

The final stop was in Edinburgh, Scotland where the tour spent four nights, playing their final games of the tour at the Peffermill Fields. While in Edinburgh, the group took part in the world famous Underground Ghost Tour. Known as the most haunted city in the world, the Ghost Tour went through St. Giles Cathedral, across George IV Bridge and inside Greyfriars Kirkyard, a 450 year old cemetery. The tour finished underground into a section of 17th-century South Bridge. The site-seeing didn't end underground. Also in Edinburgh, the group went on a guided tour of city including a stop at the incredible Edinburgh Castle, believed to be built in the 12th century, and a trip to the seaside town of St. Andrew's.
