No. 17 Post Scores Three Second Half Goals In Shutout of Lions

WATERBURY, Conn. (Sept. 30, 2023) - Georgian Court Men's Soccer went on the road against two-time defending CACC Champions Post. The Lions and Eagles were scoreless through 45 minutes, but No. 17 Post scored three times in the second half to go on to a 3-0 win. The loss puts the Lions at 2-4-2 and 1-2-1 in the CACC.

How it Happened

• GCU had a chance in the closing minutes. They had a corner kick opportunity which was cleared out. But when attempting to reenter the offensive zone the Lions were called for offsides as the half ended.
• There was much more action in the second half, unfortunately it was still being played in the Lions defensive zone.
• Post was peppering the net with shot attempts. Krissler made one save, but in the 60th minute the Eagles finally broke through. Uriate scored with assists from Florindo and Francisco Sousa giving Post a 1-0 lead.
• The Lions kept it a one-goal game for a while, but were unable to generate much offensively. In the final 10 minutes, Post scored twice more to seal the win with Deni Iljazi scoring each time.
