Women's Soccer Hits the Road to Battle New Haven

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Sept. 8, 2023) - Georgian Court Women's Soccer is looking to start and finish their third official game of the season. They're back on the pitch Saturday afternoon.

Previously vs. New Haven
• These two teams met a year ago at a neutral site hosted by Pace.
• Georgian Court scored a 1-0 victory for their first win of the season.
• Izzy Hernandez broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 58th minute.
• Georgian Court led in shots 10-7. Alyssa Dias made three saves in goal.
• All-time Georgian Court is 3-7 against New Haven and 0-4 playing on the road.

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court was back home for a match against Pace Wednesday morning.
• Although the start time was moved up due to extreme heat in the forecast for the afternoon, the game was still unable to be completed and is suspended.
• With Georgian Court ahead 1-0, the match was called due to heat with 29:47 left to play.
• Abby Kennelly scored for the Lions on an assist from Grace Konfederak.
• Delanie Wilkinson made four saves in goal.  

Lion Leaders
• Because the game against Pace was suspended, stats from the first 60:13 do not officially count. Should the game resume and be completed, those stats will be included.
• Since stats from Pace do not count, the Lions are still looking for their goal of the season. Ava Reardon leads the team with two shots. Abby Kennelly has the only shot on goal.
• Carley Polchak started the first two games in goal. She has eight saves on the year.
• Emma Bennett and Delanie Wilkinson have also seen time in net. Wilkinson got the start in the suspended game against Pace.

Individual Milestones
• With one more game played, Aliya Canfield and Jessica Ford will hit 40 for their career.
• Aliya Canfield is also two goals away from 20 in her career and her next shot will be her 50th.

About New Haven 
• Georgian Court will be the third consecutive CACC opponent for New Haven to start the 2023 season.
• The Chargers split 1-0 wins defeating Post before falling to Caldwell.
• In the 2023 Preseason Coaching Poll, New Haven was picked to finish 12th after going 5-10-3 overall last year and 2-9-1 in conference.
• New Haven's lone goal this season has been scored by Macy Litalien.
• Riley Drosopoulous leads the team with eight total shots.
• Caitlyn Daley has played every minute in goal thus far. She's allowed one goal and made eight saves.
