Previously vs. Caldwell
• Caldwell has been a bit of a house of horrors for the Lions.
• All-time, GCU is just 3-6-1 against the Cougars and 1-4 playing in Caldwell.
• The Lions last win over Caldwell came back in 2021, a 5-2 win. Their last win on the road was a 2-1 in win 2017.
• Georgian Court has never been shutout by the Cougars and scored five goals twice.
• Last year, GCU lost 2-1 in Lakewood with all three goals coming in the second half.
• Tied at one, Caldwell hit the game-winner in the 85th minute.

Last Time Out
• It was one of the greatest regular season games in Lions history Tuesday afternoon against Felician.
• The regionally ranked opponents played a spirited and competitive game.
• Maurice Engl got the scoring started with a goal in the seventh minute. That was answered by Felician later in the half.
• Still tied a one it looked like the match was headed to a draw. GCU had one final opportunity and made it count as Mikey Mallon passed ahead to Gijs van Eif who flicked it forward where Svante Haakansson ran up on the ball and got it over the keeper and under the bar for the game-winner with just 11 seconds left to play.
• It was the latest regulation game-winner in Lions history.

• Gijs van Eif needs one point for sole possession of fifth place on the all-time list and one goal to tie for third for a single-season.
• Also moving up that career goals list is David Tuschmann. He's one goal away from 10 which would tie him for 10th in Lions history. 
• Another shutout from Ayendi Batista will give him five which will be second-most for a single-season in Lions history and fourth for a career.
• Maurice Engl is two minutes away from 3000. Tim Wilk is 62 minutes short of 1000.
• Ayendi Batista needs three saves to hit 50. 
• Svante Haakansson needs three points for 20.
• Mikey Mallon is three assists away from the Lions single-season record. Three more will also move him into second place on the career list. 

CACC Leaders (Based on NCAA Statistics)
• Gijs van Eif is second in the CACC in goals scored and ninth nationally. He's also second in the league with 22 points, 12th nationally. 
• At 1.021, Ayendi Batista is second in the CACC in goals against average. His four shutouts are also second. 
• Mikey Mallon is second in the league with 0.67 assists per game. His eight assists are fifth nationally. 
• Freshman Svante Haakansson is now in the top-5 in the CACC in both points and goals. 
• The Lions' 1.77 assists per game and 23 total assists are second in the conference.
• With 5.77 points per game, GCU is third in the CACC.
• The Lions have the number four scoring offense generating two goals per game. They're also third in goal differential at +8.

• Just about everyone putting on a Lion uniform these days is finding success. 
• One of the hottest goaltender's in the league if not the country is Ayendi Batista who has eight straight wins allowing just six goals in that span with four shutouts.
• Gijs van Eif has goals in eight of his last 10 and points in four straight.
• Mikey Mallon has an assist in four straight games and seven of his last eight. 
• Svante Haakansson has 10 points in his last three games. 
• Maurice Engl has goals in three of his last four games.
• David Tuschmann recorded his first collegiate brace Saturday against Bloomfield. 
• Woodley Cagilus picked up a pair of assists against Bloomfield. 
• Alessandro Cavallini's minutes have increased and he rewarded the team with an assist against Felician. 

Inside the Winning Streak
• During the Lions current eight-game winning streak, GCU has outscored opponents 20-6.
• Four of their eight wins have come via shutout.
• GCU is still scoring early with goals coming in the first 12 minutes of play nine times and 10 times in the first 16 minutes of play. That includes seven times during the eight-game winning streak.
• The eight straight wins are more wins than GCU had in either 2022 or 2023.

• Last week Georgian Court cracked the United Soccer Coaches Regional Rankings at No. 10 in the East Region.
• That was prior to their two wins over Wilmington and Bloomfield.
• They've moved up to sixth this week, before their match against Felician. 

About Caldwell
• The Cougars are also near the top of the CACC at 4-1-1 in league play, 5-3-3 overall.
• They just defeated preseason No. 1 Post Wednesday afternoon, 2-1. 
• Caldwell is a different team playing at home where they're 3-0-1.
• Part of that is the narrow field dimensions giving them a unique home-field advantage.
• The strength of Caldwell's team has been in the net. Justin Talbot is one of the best goaltenders in the country with a 5-1-2 record and 0.76 goals against average. His .882 save percentage is second in all of Division II.
• Caldwell is spreading the ball around with five multi-goal scorers, but neither have more than three. Yigit Kilic, Aimar Carter and Theodore Hertzenberg each have three goals on the year.
