LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 16, 2024) - It was a fun and festive day that last from pregame to postgame for Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse. The Lions opened up CACC play and honored their 2024 senior class with a bang, a 25-2 thumping of Caldwell. The win puts the Lions over .500 at 5-4 this season and they start 1-0 in conference play.
How it Happened
• Everything went GCU's way in this one. They took 40 shots, put 36 on target and scored 25 goals. Caldwell scored twice on just six shots.
• The Lions didn't allow a goal after the first quarter.Â
• Georgian Court won 20 of 29 draw controls. They also got to 26 ground balls and the Cougars eight.
• Caldwell turned the ball over 16 times and the Lions just five. GCU was 22-23 on clear attempts and Caldwell 10-19.
• GCU converted on three-of-four free position shots. Caldwell was 0-1.Â
• There were only two cards in the game, one for each side. GCU scored both a power play and shorthanded goal.Â
First Quarter
• Georgian Court got to work early as
Remi Reinhardt scored on the first shot of the game, 29 seconds in.
• Caldwell answered though in the first minute and tied the game at one.
• That's when Georgian Court turned it on. They scored seven straight and finished the first quarter ahead 14-2.Â
• All four of
Riley O'Connor's goals came in the first quarter.
Isabel Raimondi netted three and four assists.
Second Quarter
• Georgian Court was content to let the shot clock wind down starting in the second quarter.
• After lighting it up for 14 goals in the first, GCU scored three more in the second.

Kasha Elzinga scored playing shorthanded. Her senior teammate
Kate Clemente got in on the action with her first goal.

Michaela Scirrotto capped the half with a goal at the 1:49 mark for a 17-2 lead at intermission.
Third Quarter
• The Lions put four on the board in both the third and fourth quarters.

Caitlin Petrellese scored to get things going in the second half.
• The Lions also got goals from
Alyssa Hawley and
Gianna Nardini and
Kate Clemente each scored their second.
Fourth Quarter
• Freshman
Emily Smith made it 11 Lion goal-scorers. She scored for the first time in her career to start the fourth.
• GCU put three more on the board in the final 4:00, including another from Clemente who picked up the hat trick.
Lion Stat Leaders

Isabel Raimondi was in double-figures scoring 11 points with four goals and seven assists.
•
Riley O'Connor scored four times as well, all in the first quarter. She also helped out on defense with a team-best five ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Kate Clemente and
Alyssa Hawley each scored three times. All three of Clemente's shot went past the goalkeeper.

Remi Reinhardt had a nice day with two goals, two assists, three ground balls and eight draw controls.Â

Gianna Nardini scored twice with five ground balls.
•
Kasha Elzinga and
Bryleigh Tejchman each scored twice.
•
Caitlin Petrellese picked up four ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers.Â
• Not much for the Lion netminders in this one.
Natalie Moradian got the win making one save.
Cadence Gentile played the entire second half and didn't allow a goal while making two saves.
For the Cougars
• Serena Barra made 11 saves in goal.
• Tala Marzooq scored for Caldwell while also winning three draws.
• Megan Molinelli added an assist with two grounders and three draw controls.
• Tiana Cipot also scored a goal.
News and Notes
• The Lions won their eighth straight against Caldwell and move to 11-1 all-time.

Riley O'Connor moved to fourth place all-time in goals at Georgian Court.
• The Lions were just one goal away from tying the single-game record, which was done last year.
•
Isabel Raimondi's 11 points are tied for the eight-most all-time at GCU in a single game. Her seven assists are tied for the 10th most.
