LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 5, 2024) - After a few weeks of playing on the road, Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse came back home Tuesday afternoon. It wasn't a warm welcome for the home team though as No. 12 Pace was there to greet them with an 18-5 loss. The loss drops Georgian Court to 2-3 this season.
How it Happened
• Possession greatly favored the Setters who were helped out winning 19-27 faceoffs.
• Pace totaled 53 shots, putting 31 on target. Georgian Court fired 38 shots with 20 hitting the net.
• The Setters also got to more ground balls, 35-24. Georgian Court turned the ball over 14 times, eight caused by Pace. The Setters lost it 13 with four GCU caused turnovers.
First Quarter
• Pace was called for seven penalties and the Lions scored three times with the extra-man. GCU was booked four times with Pace going 2-4 a man-up.
• The Setters scored the first three goals of the game in the first six minutes. Pace moved the ball well to find the open man in front of the net.
• The next three goals were all scored on the power play, two coming from the Lions. GCU scored with 38 seconds left in the first as

Second Quarter
• Pace pushed the lead back to three with a man-up goal of their own 3:15 into the frame.
• GCU got the goal back a minute later as

• The teams again traded goals. The Lions' came from
Vincent Burns who picked up a ground ball in the slot and flung it towards the net where it trickled in past the Setter keeper.
• Leading 5-3, Pace scored the final three of the half, including one with 37 seconds left to take an 8-3 lead into intermission.
Third Quarter
• Georgian Court scored the first of the half again with the man-advantage. Mackenzie dished to
Harrison Jordan who shot from 15 feet our whizzed past the goalie.
• That was the Lions only goal of the period though. Pace scored four straight with the final two coming just 24 seconds apart.Â
Fourth Quarter
• After scoring the final four of the third, Pace connected on the first two of the fourth. The first was a man-up for a 13-4 lead.

Doug Mackenzie scored his second of the game midway through the fourth. It was the Lions only goal of the quarter.
• Pace finished the game scoring the final four with three coming in a 1:29 span and two just 11 seconds apart.
• The Setters took a late cross checking penalty, but were able to kill it off to finish the game with the 18-5 win.

• Declan Landers scored four times collecting five points.
• Preston Kral scored twice with with assists.
• Maxwell Stretty won 16-22 faceoffs with seven ground balls.
• Daniel Zabbia collected three points with two goals and an assist.
• Chris Butler and Chris Caputo each caused two turnovers and picked up three ground balls.
• Jack Kern stopped 15 shots against.
