LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 13, 2024) - Georgian Court Softball had everything working Saturday afternoon for their doubleheader with Post. They took care of the Eagles winning two run-rule games 10-1 and 15-2, putting on a clinic in all three phases of the game. The Lions move to 15-17 overall and 7-5 in the CACC.
Game 1 - Georgian Court 10, Post 1 - 5 Innings
How It Happened
• Georgian Court scored 10 runs on 13 hits getting seven extra-base hits.
• The Eagles hit five singles and scored one unearned run.
• The two teams combined for five errors. Post made three leading to on unearned run. The Lions made two which led to an unearned run.
• Post got a number of runners on base with five hits and three walks. They stranded eight runners. Georgian Court left four on base.
• In the top of the first,
Lia DeMaio robbed Caitlin DeAngelis of extra-bases with a diving catch in center field on the warning track to help
Janelle Blaszka through a 1-2-3 top of the first.
• The home half of the inning was a three-run frame for the Lions.
Cheyenne Jackson led off with a triple and was driven by
Adriana Mungo's triple.
Kaitlyn Stufft followed with a double and the Lions had three extra-base hits the first three batters of the game.

Brittany Gable's bunt single led to wild throw from the first baseman and Stufft was able to score the third run of the inning.
• A double steal in the second inning brought in
Isabella Molina. Stufft and
Jadalynn Rodriguez plated three more with back-to-back doubles for a 7-0 lead.
• The Lions made it 8-0 in the third on
Kristy Regalado's RBI ground out.
• After Post scored an RBI single in the fourth, GCU answered as Stufft homered to bring in two more, getting the Lions to 10 runs.
• Blaszka got three ground ball outs to end the game, 10-1, after five innings.

Janelle Blaszka threw all five innings allowing just one unearned run on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Kaitlyn Stufft was 3-3 with two doubles and a home run. She scored three times and drove in four.

Adriana Mungo reached three times with a single, triple and awalk. She scored three times.

Gabriella Aleman and
Isabella Molina were each 2-3 with a run scored.
•
Jadalynn Rodriguez doubled and drove in two.
For the Eagles
• Devin Barnett tossed a complete game allowing 10 runs, nine earned on 13 hits with two walks.
• Julia Maida singled and scored.
• Allysa Calarese singled and drove in the Eagles only run.
• Caitlin DeAngelis finished 1-2.
Game 2 - Georgian Court 15, Post 2 - 5 Innings
How it Happened
• Game two was another laugher for the Lions. They scored early and often, putting up for in the first inning.
• Georgian Court totaled 15 runs on 11 hits while Post, despite their eight hits, scored just two runs.
• Just one of Post's eight hits were for extra bases and they stranded six runners on base.
• The Eagles made three errors in the field leading to three unearned runs.
• Post had a chance to get on top early, getting two infield singles from the first two batters but
Julia Lapp was able to escape the inning unharmed.
• A throwing error in the first allowed the first two runs of the game to score. The Lions followed that up with RBI singles from
Gabriella Aleman and
Isabella Molina for a 4-0 lead after one.
• After Lapp stranded another pair in the second, GCU came back with three more runs. Aleman picked up another two-RBI single.
• Molina's deep drive to the outfield was caught in right center and
Brittany Gable, tagging up from second base, didn't stop running scoring all the way from second and putting GCU ahead 7-0.
• In the third,
Adriana Mungo drove in a run with a single and Stufft's second home run of the day brought in three more.
• Georgian Court scored another four in the fourth. They scored four runs in the first, third and fourth innings and three in the second. Jackson drove in a pair with a seeing-eye single and an infield error allowed the final two runs to score for GCU.
• Post avoided the shutout with a two-run home run in the fifth, but couldn't avoid another run-rule loss, 15-2.
Lions Stat Leaders
• Stufft was 3-4 driving in four runs and scoring four times. She finished a triple shy of the cycle.

Gabriella Aleman drove in three runs going 2-3.
•
Adriana Mungo scored three times and drove in a run.
•
Cheyenne Jackson was 2-3 with two runs, two RBI and a stolen base.
•
Julia Lapp scattered eight hits and allowed two runs with a strikeout and didn't walk a batter.
•
Isabella Molina reached base twice with a single and a walk and drove in two runs.
For the Eagles
• Samantha Riccardulli picked up two hits and scored a run.
• Lily Tomasiello homered and drove in both Eagle runs.
• Julia Rigano, Briana Hynds, Brooke Dickenson and Carli Perruso were all 1-2 with singles.

• The Lions 15 runs in game two are their most in a conference game this season and matches their highest in any game.
