LAKEWOOD, NJ - In a battle of the two top teams in the CACC, Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse came up a little bit short against unbeaten Dominican. The Chargers pulled ahead in the fourth quarter of a close game for a 20-14 win. Georgian Court falls to 9-6 on the season and 5-2 in the CACC.
How it Happened
• Draw controls played a big factor in this one. Dominican doubled up the Lions 24-12. GCU was also called for a number of false starts to give possession to the Chargers.
• Each team had a problem with turnovers. GCU lost the 17 times and Dominican 16.
• Part of those Charger turnovers were on clear attempts where they were 15-20. GCU was 15-17 getting across the timeline.
• The Lions were money on free-position attempts. That kept them in the game for a while as they were 8-10. Dominican cashed in on 4-7 attempts.
• Shots favored Dominican 39-24. They also led in shots on goal 31-20.
First Period
• Georgian Court started the scoring getting two goals in the first 3:02.

Kasha Elzinga the goal-scorers for GCU.
• After Dominican got on the board, GCU went right back up by two just 36 seconds later as
Isabel Raimondi scored on the free position shot.
• The Chargers finished the first with a pair of goals to get even at three. They held the Lions off the board the final 8:24 of the quarter.
Second Period
• Dominican took their first lead 30 seconds in.
• The Lions got the goal right back on another free-position goal, this one from
Caitlin Petrellese.
• The Chargers answered and went up by two with two more goals and never trailed the rest of the way.

Bryleigh Tejchman scored the next two goals for the Lions.
• In the final 2:18 there were three goals scored. Two from Dominican at the 2:18 mark and 1:13. O'Connor evened the game briefly at seven before Dominican took an 8-7 lead at the half.
Third Period
• To start the second half, Dominican scored two straight for a 10-7 lead.
• Georgian Court scored four of the next five goals in a 3:10 span to even the game at 11.
• Tejchman and Petrellese each had one and
Gianna Nardini scored twice. Three of the four goals were on free-position shots.
• The Chargers again finished the quarter strong though. GCU didn't score the final 6:15 and Dominican netted two to get the lead back, including one with 23 seconds to play in the third for a 13-11 lead heading to the fourth.
Fourth Period
•
Remi Reinhardt on another free-position goal got GCU back within one at 13-12 with 13:55 left to play.
• The Chargers though took over scoring five straight and holding the Lions scoreless for more than 10 minutes.Â
• Leading 18-12, GCU got a pair of late goals from Elzinga and Reinhardt, but Dominican matched them and remained unbeaten with a 20-14 win.Â

Isabel Raimondi led the Lions with five points scoring once and dishing out four assists.Â

Remi Reinhardt won 10 draw controls while also scoring two goals and adding two assists and causing three turnovers.

• Madelyn Grella totaled 10 points with eight goals and two assists.
• Caitlin Costello picked up five points with two goals, three assists and added a team-high four ground balls.

• Both Dominican goalkeepers got plenty of action. Kristinamarie Kaszovitz got the win with five saves.Â

• Dominican wins it's third straight over Georgian Court. GCU is still 18-6 all-time against the Chargers.
• The Lions 10 draw control wins are their fewest in a conference game this season.
