Lions Head to Jefferson For CACC Semifinals

LAKEWOOD, NJ (May 1, 2024) - The CACC Tournament rolls on for Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse who are on the road in the semifinals.

Previously vs. Jefferson
• The Lions have gotten the better of this series all-time, winning 22-of-27.
• Georgian Court had also won nine straight entering their regular season contest. 
• The Lions led a lead slip away at Jefferson earlier this season.
• GCU was up 10-6 at the half, but were outscored 10-2 in the second, including 6-0 in the third quarter.
Riley O'Connor led the Lions scoring four goals. 
• GCU won draw controls 18-14, but turned the ball over 20 times. 

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court made quick work of Holy Family in the CACC quarterfinals. 
• The Lions dominated with a 20-4 win.
Natalie Moradian didn't allow a goal in the second half.
Gianna Nardini led GCU with five goals. Isabel Raimondi totaled six points. 
• It's the second straight game the Lions scored 20 or more goals.

• Isabel Raimondi sits fourth in the CACC with 96 points on the season. She's also third in assists at 51 and her 3.00 assists per game are eighth most in the NCAA.
• Riley O'Connor is sixth in goals with 60 and ninth in points with 80. Her 3.53 goals per game are sixth-best. 
• Remi Reinhardt leads the league with 8.06 draw controls per game which is seventh nationally. 
Natalie Moradian is third in the CACC with a 44.2% save percentage and 10.46 goals against average. 
• Cadence Gentile would rank in the top-three in the CACC in both save percentage and goals against average if she'd played enough minutes to qualify.
• Georgian Court is winning 15.71 draw controls per game, third-most in the CACC. Their 53.4% draw control percentage is also the third-highest. 
• The Lions are scoring 15.76 goals per game, which is third in the league. They're also third in goals against average at 10.18.
• GCU is tops in the conference with a .878 clearance percentage.
• On the ground, GCU is grabbing 20.88 ground balls per game which is second in the CACC.
• Georgian Court is also second converting 52.6% of their free position shots.

CACC Postseason 
• The top six teams in the CACC all qualified for the conference tournament beginning April 29.
• The top two seeds, Dominican and Jefferson, each receive a bye and host the semifinal round with the No. 3 and 4 seeds hosting the quarterfinals.
• The higher seeds all won in the quarterfinals with GCU defeating Holy Family and Wilmington taking down Bridgeport.
• In addition to the Lions at Jefferson, Wilmington will play at No. 1 Dominican, Thursday. 
• The Championship game is played Sunday, May 5 at Dominican. 

All-CACC
• Four Lions were named to the All-CACC team earlier this week.
Remi Reinhardt was a First Team selection at midfield.
Kelsey Naclerio became the first Lion to ever make four All-CACC teams. She was on the Second Team.
Madison Battle and Isabel Raimondi were also on the Second Team, their first career All-Conference nod. 

About the Opponents
Jefferson Rams

• Jefferson finished the year at 7-7 overall and 7-2 in the CACC. 
• After back-to-back losses to Wilmington at Dominican, Jefferson finished the CACC with three straight league wins. 
• Playing at home, Jefferson is 4-2 this season as opposed to 3-5 on the road. That includes a win over GCU and a 4-0 mark at home against the CACC. 
• Jefferson was picked to finish second in the CACC, one spot ahead of Georgian Court after reaching the CACC Tournament finals last year.
• Ellie Lefton leads Jefferson with 62 points and 41 assists.
• Carina Raymond has a team-best 37 goals. Erin Avanzato has scored 31. 
• Kalyn Ammerlaan has played every minute in goal with a 11.31 goals against average and .450 save percentage and 127 stops.
• Jefferson has turned the ball over 17.5 times per game. Their clearance rate of 84% is third in the CACC. 
• The team is just 21-64 on free position attempts, 32.8% while giving up 44% to opponents.
