WATERBURY, Conn. (Oct. 11, 2025) - Georgian Court Volleyball traveled to Post for the first time since defeating the Eagles in the CACC Tournament last season. A year ago, it was the Lions winning in three to claim the CACC Championship and a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Not nearly as much was on the line this time around, but Post flipped the script with a 3-0 win of their own.
How it Happened
• The Lions offense had a tough day hitting just .034 with 31 kills and 27 errors. Post hit .263 overall and landed 36 kills.
• Defensively, Post also had an advantage putting back 13 blocks to the Lions seven.
• On the serve, GCU scored six aces but hit eight service errors. The Eagles had five aces to six errors.
Set 1
• Georgian Court started out with a 4-1 lead, helped out by three Post miscues.
• The Eagles turned this around quickly though and scored five straight for a 6-4 lead.
• Post never lost the lead the rest of the way and even though the Lions finished scoring four of the final six points, Post held on, 25-20, for a 1-0 match lead.
• Of Post's five service aces in the match, four came in set one.
Set 2
• Georgian Court again got an early lead in set two and a
Brooke Bowbliss ace made it a 6-4 lead.
• The wheels fell off after that though. Post scored six straight to take the lead for good.
• Leading 10-8, Post finished the set outscoring GCU 15-6. The Lions made three errors to end the set, 25-14 in favor of the Eagles.
• The Lions hit -.086 for the set while Post was at .346.
Set 3
• The third set was the closest of the day.
• For the third straight set, GCU jumped out to a lead. They scored six of the first seven with three kills, a service ace and a block.Â
• GCU continued to lead and were looking good up 20-16.
• Post rallied though with a 7-1 run and took their first lead, 23-21.
• The Lions rebounded nicely with three straight kills from
Addison Wellington,
Brooke Bowbliss and
Ava Churnesky to force a set point.
• Post finished off the match though with a block and back-to-back kills for a 26-24 win.

Ava Churnesky landed a team-best 13 kills with six digs.
•
Brooke Bowbliss had 12 assists, seven digs, four kills, four blocks. and two aces.
•
Iciar Zayas also passed out 12 assists and added eight digs.
•
Amber Gallo had a team-high nine digs.
For the Eagles
• Kristina Peric led all scorers with 16 kills, hitting .239 and seven digs.
• Catelina Luzader handed out 31 assists with seven digs.
• Alyssa Groves led the defense with 20 digs.
• Nuri Shahid-Stevenson finished with seven kills and eight blocks.Â
