LAKEWOOD, NJ (Oct. 22, 2025) - On a bright and sunny day in Lakewood, Georgian Court hosted the first-ever CACC Men's Soccer Development Squad Tournament. The first-of-its-kind event brought four CACC teams to GCU to square off in a one-day tournament. In addition to Georgian Court, Caldwell, Felician and Holy Family took part.
The tournament was run with 60 minute games played back-to-back. First round games were decided at random with the winners playing for the tournament championship.
Game one saw Georgian Court play Felician. The Lions advanced to the finals with a 2-1 win. Nolan Mahoney was the goalkeeper and credited with the win.
Dominic Scotto scored the first goal while
Shermicah Moore had the game-winner.Â
In the Championship game, the Lions took on Holy Family.
Simon Mortensen was in net for the Lions and shutout the Tigers in a 2-0 win. The first half saw
Jaden DelValle convert on a breakaway for the game's first goal. Riley Fine put the game away with a goal in the second half.Â
Georgian Court has been the leader in growing the CACC Men's Soccer Development Squad programs. The Lions have maintained a strong development squad for more than a decade and helped provide guidance to other teams looking to build their own, now with four across the CACC. The hope is this will become an annual tournament each fall.Â
