Men's Soccer Returns Home For Senior Day

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Oct. 23, 2025) - Georgian Court Men's Soccer comes back to Lakewood this weekend and will host Senior Day Saturday afternoon.

How to Watch
• Saturday's game is available to watch via a free-to-view broadcast on the Georgian Court portal of the CACC Network, powered by HUDL. Live stats are also available on the Lions schedule page. 

Senior Day
• Prior to the game, Georgian Court will recognize their 2025 senior class with a special on-field ceremony. 

Previously vs. Dominican
• Georgian Court has a very successful history with Dominican sporting a 7-3-2 all-time record. They're 7-1-2 in their last 10 games as well.
• Last year in Orangeburg, the Lions got a goal in the final two minutes from Svante Haakansson to pull out a 3-2 win.
• Gijs van Eif tied the game 20 seconds into the second half and Haakansson hit the game winner with 1:49 left on the clock.
• Haakansson also had the game's first goal, giving him two for the afternoon.

Last Time Out
• The Lions played well for the first 85 minutes at Felician, but it all came crashing down in the final five.
• GCU was up 2-1, getting goals from David Tuschmann and Mikey Mallon.
• They led with less than five minutes to play, but conceded three late goals and had their victory swept out from under them in a 4-2 loss. 

Individual Milestones
• One more win will move Ayendi Batista to second all-time for the Lions. 
• Tim Wilk is 73 minutes away from having played 2,000.

CACC Stat Leaders
• Jack Pollintine-Smith is tied for third in the CACC with four assists. 
• The Lions offense is getting off their share of shots. They're third in the league in shots per game and shots on goal per game.
• Georgian Court's is fifth in total points, goals and assists. 

Scheduling Quirk
• All season long the Lions don't play more than two straight games at home or more than two straight on the road.

About Dominican
• Dominican is currently riding a two-game winning streak, having allowed just two goals in their last four games.
• The Chargers are coming off of a week-long break as well and defeated Holy Family on the road last weekend, 3-0.
• DUNY is 3-6-3 overall this season and performing just as well on the road as they are at home. They're 2-4-2 away from home and 1-2-1 when the home team.
• Dominican has been carded more than any team in the CACC. Their 39 ranks eighth in Division II.
• The Chargers have been getting great goaltending. They've allowed more than two goals just twice in 12 games.
• David Arteaga has started 11 games and has a CACC-best 60 saves with a .789 save percentage and 1.45 goals against average. 
• Matheus Xavier has a team-best seven points and three goals. 
 
SENIOR DAY
• Prior to the match, Georgian Court will recognize their senior class of 2025. The Lions have 13 members of the team in their senior class. 

Batista, Ayendi#00 | Ayendi Batista

Jackson, NJ

One of the top goalkeepers in the CACC the last two seasons, Batista has quickly climbed up the Lions all-time record book. In 27 games played, Batista is 15-9-1, his 15 wins tied for the second-most in team history. He made his 100th save this season, just the sixth Lion to ever do that and his six shutouts are tied for third most in program history. His 11 wins in 2024 are the most in a single-season in program history. 

Gkosdis, Sotirios#1 | Sotirios Gkosdis
6-2 | Goalkeeper | Graduate
Megara, Greece

Another high-profile goalkeeper, Gkosdis is second all-time in career saves with 129. He's played in 24 games with a .754 save percentage and 1.85 goals against average. He one of the best years of any GCU keeper in 2022 with a .815 save percentage and 88 saves. 

Cavallini, Alessandro#2 | Alessandro Cavallini
6-0 | Defense | Senior
Carpi, Italy

One of the true iron men of GCU, Alessandro Cavallini has played in 45 games since arriving to Lakewood in 2023 and more than 3,000 minutes. An offensive-minded defenseman, Cavallini is a major help in the Lions transition attack as evidenced by his four career goals and five assists.

Mallon, Mikey#8 | Mikey Mallon
5-6 | Midfield | Senior
Glasgow, Scotland

Exceptionally talented, Mallon broke out as a junior with nine assists in a season that led to All-CACC First Team honors. He's moved up to second all-time at Georgian Court in career assists and has had to do more finishing this season than setting up as he has a career-high three goals. 

Jannesson, Oscar#14 | Oscar Jannesson
6-2 | Defense | Senior
Gothenburg, Sweden

Noone has played in more games for Georgian Court the last four seasons than Oscar Jannesson with 64. He surpassed 5,000 minutes played this season as well. He helped the Lions to back-to-back CACC Tournament semifinal appearances with the work he does on the Lions back line, as one of the top defending teams in the league. 

Bayait, Colin#19 | Colin Bayait
5-7 | Midfield | Senior
Middlesex, NJ

Bayait is a dedicated four-year Lion who arrived ahead of the 2022 season. He's been a part of the team as a leader on the development squad which just won the CACC Men's Soccer Development Squad Tournament last week. 

Olatundun, Daniel#20 | Daniel Olatundun
5-9 | Forward | Senior
Sutton Coldfield, England

Olatundun also arrived to Lakewood in 2022 and has been one of the Lions best success stories, working his way up from the development squad to the varsity roster. He played in his first career game this season and has dressed for all 12 and appeared in four. 

Kottas, Constantinos#21 | Constantinos Kottas
5-10 | Midfield | Senior
Weehawken, NJ

Kottas has been wearing the royal blue and gold for four years and has been a quality member of the Lions development squad which last week won the first-ever CACC Men's Soccer Development Squad Tournament.

Tuschmann, David#28 | David Tuschmann
6-1 | Forward | Senior
Colts Neck, NJ

Tuschmann made an immediate impact as a freshman, scoring two goals in 12 games played. Earlier this season, he became just the 11th Lion to reach 10 career goals scored. He's scored at least two goals in each of his first two seasons at Georgian Court and his four starts in 2025 are a career-high.

Gonaives, Haiti

Tribie is another dedicated member of the Lions Development Squad. He's been a part of the team since 2022 and this year helped GCU to a win in the first-ever CACC Men's Soccer Development Squad Tournament.

Buffington, Josh#45 | Josh Buffington
6-1 | Defense | Senior
Atco, NJ

A dedicated teammate and four-year member of Lions soccer, Buffington has played a role on Georgian Court's Development Squad since 2022.

Achouri, Yanis#55 | Yanis Achouri

Rouen, France

In his one season at Georgian Court, Yanis has appeared in seven games, making two starts and picking up an assist while helping Georgian Court's back line. 

Baradas, Robert #67 | Robert Baradas

Chatham, NJ

Baradas has been a part of Georgian Court soccer since 2022, playing for the development squad during that time and this year helped GCU to a win in the first-ever CACC Men's Soccer Development Squad Tournament.
