Volleyball Finishes Week at Home vs. Felician

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Oct. 28, 2025) - Georgian Court Volleyball looks to make it a 2-0 weeks as they host Felician Saturday afternoon.

How to Watch
• Saturday's game is available to watch on a free-to-view live stream on the Georgian Court portal of the CACC Network, powered by HUDL. Live stats are available on the Georgian Court schedule page. 

50/50 Raffle
• All season-long, Georgian Court Athletics will be running a 50/50 raffle at all indoor home games and select outdoor games. Stop by the admissions table to enter the raffle.
• $10 per ticket or $20 for 3 tickets

• Drawing April 28, participants do not need to be present to win. 

Previously vs. Felician
• Georgian Court has never lost to Felician. They're 27-0 all-time against the Golden Falcons dating back to 2004.
• These teams met twice last season, sweeping the Golden Falcons in both games.
• That included a 3-0 win in the quarterfinals of last year's CACC Tournament. Felician put up a fight despite the sweep with set scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-17.
• Georgian Court hit .261 in that postseason match. Nylene Mateo and Giorgia Cappelletti each had 10+ kills.

Last Time Out
• The Lions needed four sets to take down CACC South Division foe Chestnut Hill.
• GCU swept the season series from the Griffins.
• It wasn't the most well-played volleyball match. Both teams hit below .100.
• Georgian Court was helped out by 14 CHC service errors, but also landed a season-high 16 blocks.

Individual Milestones
• Genesis Simanca is two kills away from 200. 
Emily Hauptvogel is eight kills short of 150.
Emma Gildea needs seven kills for 200 and 15 points for 300. 

Who's Hot?
Carmen Rivera is averaging 5.25 digs per set in her last three matches.
Maggy Hallihan has three straight assist-digs double-doubles and at least once service ace in all five matches since seeing extended playing time.
Genesis Simanca hit 12 kills against Chestnut Hill, her most in six matches.
Kyla Davis has 35 kills and 29 blocks in her last six matches. 

CACC Stat Leaders (as per NCAA statistics)
• Carmen Rivera's 4.52 digs per set ranks third in the league.
• Ava Churnesky is seventh in the CACC with 2.97 kills per set and eighth with 3.28 points per set. 
• Emma Gildea's 59 blocks are fifth in the league. Kyla Davis is three behind her with 56 which ranks eighth. 
Genesis Simanca ranks ninth in both kills and points per set. 
• Georgian Court has vastly improved their blocking of late and now are fifth in the league putting back 1.49 blocks per set. 
• As a team, the Lions rank sixth in hitting percentage, assists and digs per set.

Playoff Picture
• Getting towards the end of the season which means the CACC Tournament is just around the corner.
• This year's tournament takes place Nov. 18-23. Quarterfinal rounds will be held on campus sites with the semifinals and finals at Goldey-Beacom.
• New this season, first round games will be in-division opponents rather than cross-division.
• In the CACC South, Georgian Court is currently on the outside looking in in fifth place as the top-four in each division earn a spot.
• The Lions are 4-7 and trail fourth place Jefferson who sit at 4-6. Jefferson has a tiebreaker over GCU as well with a head-to-head win earlier in the season.
• GCU and Jefferson close the regular season in Lakewood, November 15. 

About Felician
• Felician has had a season befitting their 5-5 conference mark.
• They recently swept Bridgeport, a team that was three games ahead of them in the standings.
• The Golden Falcons are also the only team to have defeated Wilmington so far this season.
• Felician has been excellent this season on the serve. That's led by Sandra Galas who has an NCAA-best 64 service aces.
• The Golden Falcons also rank third in the CACC in opponent hitting percentage at .175.
• Galas not only leads the team in aces, she also has a team-best 224 kills.
• Felician has done a nice job on the block, where they are nearly even with opponents in blocks per set.
• The biggest hurdle has been digs, where opponents are averaging two more digs per set than the Golden Falcons.
