NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Nov. 15, 2025) - Georgian Court women's basketball opened the season with a slow start they couldn't overcome, resulting in a 104–59 defeat at Southern Connecticut.
1st Half
• SCSU had an unanswered 10-0 lead to start the game.

Amyah Bray opened up scoring for the Lions about four minutes into the 2025–2026 season, knocking down a big three to get things started.
• With a minute and a half left of this first quarter,
Alexi Hoy hit a three to bring the Lions within four.
• SCSU then went on a 9-1 half to end the first quarter.
• The Steinauer sisters led the way for Southern in the first half. Rheyna went 5-for-7 from the field and piled up 17 points by halftime, while Tayea added 15 of her own.
• Maya Henry buried a three in the closing moments of the first half, pushing SCSU's lead to a commanding 20 points at the break.
2nd Half
• The Lions had no answers defensively, as the Owls continued to score at will.
• A 19-point third quarter followed by a 32-point fourth quarter allowed the Owls to extend their lead even further.
• Rheyna Steinauer shot 10-12 from the floor and had a team high 30 points.
• The Owls took away a 104-59 win.

For the Owls
• The Steinauer sisters combined for 49 points. Rheyna had 30 points and 11 rebounds and Taeya had 19 points and seven rebounds.
• Arianna Gerkin added 13 and Jada Williams added 14.
News and Notes
• This is the fifth straight season these teams have met. GCU is 1-4 in those games and falls to 1-6 all-time against the Owls.
