WATERBURY, Conn. (Nov. 2, 2025) - Georgian Court Men's Soccer traveled to Waterbury, Conn. to take on CACC leaders Post. The Lions and the Eagles were scoreless for more then 75 minutes before Post hit the game winner in a 1-0 win. Despite the loss though, which moved Georgian Court to 4-5 in the CACC, the Lions still clinched a berth in the 2025 CACC Tournament.
How it Happened
• The Lions led in total possession, 55% to 45%.Â
• Both teams finished with eight total shots. The Lions put more on frame, 6-3.
• Georgian Court, one of the better teams in the league in generating corner kicks attempted only one. Post earned seven.
• There was just one yellow card issued in the match, to Post. Foul numbers were near even as Post drew one more, 14-13.
1st Half
• Post is a strong defensive team and that was on display in the opening 45 minutes.
• Georgian Court didn't get a shot off until the 18th minute as
Jack Pollintine-Smith put one towards the net, but it was stopped by Leopold Dufaut.
• Post had two attempted in the first 10 minutes, but neither came on net.
• Most of the rest of the half was played in the middle of the field.
• Pollintine-Smith's shot was the Lions only one of the half. Post got another one off towards the end, but that too was off target and at the end of the first, the score was where it started, 0-0.
2nd Half
• At least in terms of shot attempts, things were much different at the start of the second.
• Through the first 17 minutes, there were eight shots.
• The Lions best chance came seven minutes in as
Mikey Mallon hit the right post. Mallon got another shot off, but that was stopped by Dufaut.

Ayendi Batista made a couple of saves for the Lions to keep the game scoreless.
• Mallon and
Noa Aasheim both put shots on goal that Dufaut kept out.
• After a shot by
Tim Wilk was stopped, the Eagles moved on the counter attack. They brought it up the field and Luis Rodrigues fired a shot that went past Batista and into the net for a 1-0 lead with 13 minutes left to play.
• Despite the urgency to tie, Georgian Court was unable to get another shot off in the final 13 minutes and Post held on for a 1-0 win.
