WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Nov. 3, 2025) Georgian Court Men's Basketball got a taste of game action Monday night as they traveled to Virginia for an exhibition with William and Mary. It was the Lions first exhibition game of the season ahead of their season opener in two weeks.
While this was an exhibition game for the Lions, it counted for the Tribe, so they had incentive to play hard and did just that in a 110-63 win.Â
Georgian Court finished the game shooting 30.1% from the floor while hitting 7-35 from three. At the foul line, Georgian Court made 12-19. William and Mary showed why their a premier team in the Division I CAA. They shot 63.6% overall, doing a lot of damage in the paint. The Tribe hit 7-18 from three and 19-28 from the line.
Cam Edmonds started the game doing something he did a lot in 2024-25, getting to the foul line. He then hit a three and
Amar Lane made a layup for a 6-5 Lion lead less than two minutes into the game. It was still a two possession game, 18-12, with more than 12 minutes to play in the half. William and Mary scored nine straight and that started a 39-14 run for the Tribe through the end of the first half.
The Lion offense performed better in the second half, shooting 34% overall, 27% from three and made 7-8 from the free throw line. GCU limited turnovers to just 15 for the game, one less than the Tribe. The Lions also came up with 12 steals.Â
GCU got 13 into the game and were led by Edmonds' 20 points with three rebounds and five steals. Freshman
Kam Waters added 13 points while
Donavin Crawford scored nine, going 6-6 at the foul line.
William and Mary had six in double-figures and 13 scored at least two points.Â
The games officially count starting next week when GCU opens up their season with a neutral site game against St. Thomas Aquinas Friday, Nov. 14.Â
