Lakewood, NJ (Dec.11th, 2025) - The Lions got their second win of the season as well as their second win at home Thursday night against Jefferson. Three Lions led the way, combining for 49 of the team's 74 points.
How it Happened
• The Lions outshot Jefferson 43.3% to 33.8%.
• GCU capitalized on Jefferson's mistakes, scoring 21 of their points from turnovers.Â
• The Lions were equally as strong from the defensive end, racking up 14 steals.Â
First Quarter
• A strong defensive start for the Lions made Jefferson have eight first-quarter turnovers.Â
• Scoring was back and forth for the first five minutes of the opening quarter.Â
• A three-pointer from Maria Stanescu began an 8-1 run for the Lions.Â
• Alexi Hoy came in and made her first three of the game with two minutes remaining in the opening quarter.Â
•The Lions led by just three by the end of the first.
Second Quarter
• The Lions opened up the quarter with a layup from Jade Dickinson.Â
• A pair of free throws and a three from Amyah Bray would put the Lions up 10.Â
• With a bit over three minutes in the half, Emily Spratt would score a layup, which would be the Rams' last points of the half.Â
• The Lions also were having trouble offensively until Imani Gillette had a layup with 21 seconds to give the Lions a 10-point lead going into halftime.Â
Third Quarter
• Amyah Bray had the first nine points for the Lions, this put the team up 14.Â
• The Lions sent the Rams to the line 11 times, with the Rams knocking down eight free throws.Â
• Jefferson outscored GCU 20-15 in the third quarter.Â
Fourth Quarter
• The Rams continued to chip away in the final quarter.Â
• Five back-to-back points from Emily Spratt and a layup from Gabby Recinto tied the game.Â
• Niyell McCargo then took over for Lions, with six of her points coming in the next two minutes.Â
• Maria Stanescu had a big three to give the Lions a seven-point lead with three minutes left in the game.Â
• The final quarter was a big free-throw quarter for both teams, with the Rams shooting 17 and the Lions shooting 21.Â
• The Lions maintained their lead and walked away with a 74-64 win.Â

• Imani Gillette led the team with 17 points and a 10-rebound double-double.Â
• Niyell McCargo and Amyah Bray chipped in with 16 points each.Â
• Karissa Smedley had eight points and nine rebounds.Â
For the Rams
• Emily Spratt had 25 points.
• Gabby Recinto had 16 points and 12 rebounds.Â
