LAKEWOOD, NJ (Dec. 6, 2025) - Georgian Court found themselves down early, but once again were able to rally and pull off yet another second-half comeback win. This time the Lions took down CACC foe Caldwell, 79-77 and improve to 5-3 overall and move to 2-0 in league play.
How it Happened
• Caldwell was the better team from the floor, shooting 42.4% while GCU hit 37.5% overall.
• The Lions made two more three-pointers, going 9-25 while the Cougars hit 7-18.
• The Cougars extended their lead in the first half in part by going 16-22 at the foul line. Georgian Court did a better job in the second half limiting Caldwell's trips to the line as they went just 4-8 over the final 20 minutes.
• For the game, Georgian Court ended up performing better at the line hitting 28-37. Caldwell finished 20-30.
• GCU had the edge on the boards, 38-36, and with one more offensive rebound, they led 17-12 in second-chance points.
• Both teams did a good job holding onto the ball with neither team reaching 10 turnovers.Â
• The Lions defense again played a big part rejecting seven Caldwell shot attempts.Â
1st Half
• Georgian Court built an early lead as
Cam Edmonds knocked down a three-pointer and a mid-range putting GCU on top, 9-3.
• Caldwell hung in but a layup from
Taheen Braswell-Brown made it 14-9 with 13:50 to play in the opening half.
• Led off the bench by Markeis Isley, Caldwell climbed back as Isley's wild, off-the-glass three tied the game at 17.
• The game was still tied at 30 when the Cougars pulled ahead. They used an 8-0 run and suddenly were up six, 36-30 with under five to play.
• Braswell-Brown connected on consecutive threes and trimmed the lead to one, 39-38.
• Over the final 2:15, Caldwell extended their lead at the free throw line, especially coming from Isaiah Philbert.
• Philbert was fouled on a three-point attempt and a Lions technical foul ended up giving Philbert five free throw attempts. He hit all five and the Cougars took their largest lead, 49-40.

Amar Lane made a basket in the closing seconds and GCU trailed by seven, 49-42 at the half.
• Caldwell shot 50% from the floor in the first half and were 16-22 at the line with Philbert making 11-11.
2nd Half
• Coming out of the break, Georgian Court scored the first four points and quickly made it a one-possession game.
• The Lions went cold after that and over the next 2:23 Caldwell scored eight straight and took their largest lead, 57-46.
• It was again Braswell-Brown who responded and and hit two three-pointers 60 seconds apart to bring the Lions within five with 13:48 still to go.
• The lead hovered around five for the next 8+ minutes with the Cougars up six as late as the 5:15 mark.
• Edmonds then hit a three to make it a one-possession game. Then a layup to get within one.

Jaycen Santucci went 1-2 at the line and the game was tied at 72 with 2:45 remaining.
• After Santucci was sent back to the line where he hit two, Georgian Court was up two, 76-74.
• Philbert came down the other end and knocked in a three to give Caldwell a 77-76 lead with 1:20 left to play.
• Edmonds found his way to the free throw line and at 1:02 sank both as the Lions reclaimed a 78-77 lead.
• Caldwell came up empty on their next possession and even though GCU missed twice at extending the lead, they came down with two offensive rebounds before Caldwell was forced to foul.
• With five seconds left, Edmonds went 1-2 for a 79-77 lead. He missed the second and after Caldwell grabbed the rebound, called a timeout with just 2.2 seconds left to play.
• Whatever the Cougars drew up in the huddle didn't work as the inbound pass was fumbled and Caldwell couldn't even get a shot off before the buzzer went off on a 79-77 Lion win.
Lion Stat Leaders

Cam Edmonds led all scorers with 27 points. He hit three three-pointers and was 12-14 at the line.

Taheen Braswell-Brown scored a season-best 16 points going 4-8 from behind the arc.
•
Jaycen Santucci added 12 with six rebounds.
For the Cougars
• Isaiah Philbert came off the bench to score 26 going 11-11 at the free throw line.
• Todd Rochelle added 11 points with six rebounds and five assists.
• Melvin Evans was 6-15 for 14 points.Â
News and Notes
• For the 32nd straight game,
Cam Edmonds scored at least 10 points. That's a new GCU record for consecutive games in double-figures.Â
• Georgian Court starts the CACC season 2-0 for the third time in program history. Each time GCU has started 1-0, they've followed that with a win to move to 2-0.Â
• The Lions have also made the CACC Tournament each year they've started 2-0.
• This is already the third game this season Georgian Court has won when trailing at the half.Â
• Through just eight games, Georgian Court is already half way to a team record for blocked shots in a season. They have 46 through two games. The team record for a season is 91.Â
• After shooting 50% in the first half, Caldwell shot just 35.5% in the second.

• Georgian Court is home for their final CACC game of 2025. They host Jefferson this Thursday, Dec. 11 beginning at 7 pm. The only time GCU ever started a CACC season 3-0, to get that third win, they had to defeat Jefferson.Â
