Men's Basketball Hits the Road For Trip to Bloomfield

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 7, 2025) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball is down to just five regular season games left. They're on the road for four of them starting Saturday.

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court got back in the win column in a big way, picking up an 86-78 victory over Wilmington.
• The Lions grabbed a lead midway through the first half and never looked back.
• GCU shot 50% from the floor and made 20-29 at the foul line.
• Cam Edmonds again led the way scoring 28 points.
• Donavin Crawford was also in double-figures with 17 while Justin Soranno added 12.

Road Warriors
• After spending much of their time at home in December and January, the Lions will rack up some travel miles this month.
• Starting Saturday, Georgian Court finishes the regular season with four of their final five on the road.

• With five games remaining, Georgian Court and Wilmington are tied in the win column. 
• The Wildcats do have one game at hand with six remaining to GCU's five.
• Chestnut Hill is at the top at 7-4, followed by Jefferson and Goldey-Beacom at 6-5.
• The top four teams qualify for the CACC Postseason Tournament.

• Four more three-pointers will get Cam Edmonds to 100 in his career. Something just three other Lions have ever done.
• Jahsan Johnson is five points away from 100 in his career. 
• Taheen Braswell-Brown is five points shy of 300 in his career.

CACC Leaders
• Cam Edmonds remains the top scorer in the CACC and ranks 10th nationally with 23.3 points per game.
• Edmonds also leads the conference and is third in Division II in free throws made and attempted.
• Justin Soranno is in top-25 with just above five rebounds per game each.
• Soranno also sits top-10 in the conference in blocked shots while Edmonds is in the top-10 in steals.
• Charles Anyichie has entered the top-12 in the league in blocked shots.
• Caleb Mims in in the top-25 in steals. 
• Georgian Court leads the conference with 26.3-point attempts per game.
• The Lions sit fourth in the league with 8.9 steals per game and fourth in turnovers forced.

Who's Hot?
• Cam Edmonds has reached double-figures in all 19 games played this season. He's reached the 20-point plateau in 13 of them.
• Donavin Crawford has hit double-figure points in seven of his last eight games. He's averaging 18 over his last two. 
• Anthony Gooden is averaging 7.5 points per game across his last six contests. 
• Caleb Mims is 4-6 from the field in his last two games with three assists in each.
• Jahsan Johnson is averaging six points per game in his last two with eight rebounds and seven assists. 

Series History vs. Bloomfield
• Georgian Court has never beaten Bloomfield in their 12-game history. 
• Among the 12 games, only one has ever been within 10 points, a 67-64 loss in 2020.
• Last year, Bloomfield came to Lakewood and used a second half comeback to defeat the Lions 72-58.
• Georgian Court was up 36-30 at the half, but Bloomfield outscored GCU 42-22 in the second to prevail.

About Bloomfield
• Bloomfield is a game over .500 in the conference at 6-5 and 13-8 overall.
• They've been a terrific home team at 8-2 through 10 games.
• They're still fighting for a playoff spot in a tight CACC North Division. 6-5 has them currently in fifth place, one half game behind Caldwell who is 6-4. 
• The Bears are just one game behind second place though, but also one game from sixth.
• Bloomfield is one of the best rebounding teams in the country. They average nearly 43 per game and more than 13 on the offensive end.
• Edward Ngene is the leader on the glass averaging 10.5 per contest. He also has 77 blocks on the season, second most in Division II.
