Women's Lacrosse Can't Dig Out of Early Hole at Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (March 1, 2025) - Georgian Court and Bloomsburg each scored seven goals in the final three quarters. Unfortunately for the Lions, Bloomsburg outscored GCU 6-1 in the first, on their way to a 13-8 win.

How it Happened
• Bloomsburg offense nearly doubled the Lions in shots, 28-15 and shots on goal, 21-11.
• Georgian Court won 14-of-24 draw controls.
• The Lions turned the ball over 29 times and the Huskies just 20.
1st Quarter
• Bloomsburg's first two goals came just 23 seconds apart and less than three minutes into the game.
• GCU got one back as Isabel Raimondi scored a minute later.
• The Huskies though rattled off four straight to finish the quarter, including one with 21 seconds left to play in the frame.
2nd Quarter
• Gabrielle Battle and Nena Menard cut the lead down to three early in the second.
• Raimondi added her second of the day.
• Natalie Moradian took over in goal to start the second and allowed just one goal in the quarter as GCU got to within three, 7-4 at the half.
3rd Quarter
• Georgian Court's offense struggled in the third.
• The Lions had just one goal and two shots in the period.
• They turned the ball over seven times.
• The Huskies scored four times, their final beating the buzzer for an 11-5 lead. 
4th Quarter
• A Georgian Court penalty gave the Huskies an extra attacker and they converted on the power play.
• The Huskies added another goal and were up 13-5 late in the fourth.
• Georgian Court scored three times in the final 3:05, with goals coming from Menard, Addison Rivera and Caitlin Petrellese.

Lion Stat Leaders
• Gabrielle Battle led the Lions with four points, scoring a goal with three assists.
• Nena Menard scored twice and picked up two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
• Jill Konschak won five draw controls and scored a goal.
• Isabel Raimondi scored twice on two shots.
• Natalie Moradian allowed seven goals and made seven saves.

For the Huskies
• Marykate Sitko scored four goals and won four draws.
• Kayla Stressman scored a goal with three assists.
• Tori Burno picked up three points with a goal and two helpers.
• Lauren Foley faced just 11 shots on net, allowing eight goals and making three stops.

News and Notes
• Caitlin Petrellese caused her 25th career turnover.
• Brielle U'Selis played in her 20th career game.
• The Lions fall to 0-6 all-time against the Huskies.
