Acrobatics and Tumbling Score Program Record vs. Kutztown

LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 12, 2025) - Georgian Court Acrobatics and Tumbling continued their ascension, putting together their best performance to date. The Lions scored more than 200 points in a meet for the first time in program history and set a new season-high for the second straight meet. Ultimately, GCU fell to Kutztown 242.210-203.915 in what was also the Golden Bears season-high. 

Georgian Court started the meet setting a team record in the compulsory event. They hit new records in two of the four heats starting with a 7.25 in the acro heat. They scored 9.10 in pyramid and 8.65 in toss before hitting another team best, 2.75 in the tumbling for a total of 27.75. Kutztown started out strong as well totaling 35.05 in the compulsory event 

The Lions kept rolling with a great acro event. The matched all-time best scores in the 5-element with 8.85 and 6-element with a 6.85.  They finished by scoring a 7.20 in the 7-element and their acro total score of 22.90 is also a new team-high. Kutztown, a strong acro team scored, at least 8.85 in all three heats and totaled 27.55.

The pyramid event finished the first half. Georgian Court scored an 8.60 in the inversion and a 9.0 in the synchronized. In the open, the Lions hit another school record 9.50 and totaled 27.10. Kutztown scored at least a 9.50 in all three pyramid heats and totaled 27.70 for the event. At the end of the first half, Kutztown led 91.30-77.75.

Coming out to start the second half was the toss event. Georgian Court scored 7.70 in the 450 Salto, 7.15 in the synchronized and 7.80 in the open toss. They totaled 22.65 and were up over 100 total points through four events. Kutztown finished the toss with 25.40 points, scoring at least an 8.25 in all three toss heats.

In the tumbling event, Georgian Court scored 40.275. They started out with a 6.10 in the duo pass before setting a new record in the trio pass. The group of Kathryn Santise, Gianna Mirassol and Louanne Legregin scored a 7.10. GCU had never before scored above a 7.0 in the heat and their previous best was a 6.0.

The Lions finished the synchronized passes with a 4.95 in the quad pass. Moving the to individual passes, Gianna Mirassol scored a 6.875 in the aerial, Louanne Legregin a 7.70 in the 6-element and Kathryn Santise nearly hit her best with a 7.55 in the open pass. Kutztown continued to power along and totaled 47.90 for the event.

Heading into the team event, Kutztown led 164.60-140-675.

Georgian Court knew another team event score like their last meet would put them over the 200 point milestone for the first time. The Lions excelled and scored 63.24 points, a new program-best for the team event as they flew past 200 points to their total of 203.915.

Kutztown scored 77.61 in the team portion for a final score of 242.210.

On what she saw from her team tonight:

It's been our goal for this season [to score 200 total points], so it's nice to see those scores. We worked really hard since our last meet and scoring 200 was our goal. Everyone cleaned up those little things that we needed to get a big score. I'm very proud of that.

On building from tonight's meet for the rest of the season:
I think we upgraded some things this time around and we're looking to upgrade a little more, while also doing what we did today and cleaning up some of those things that needed a little work. Not everything went perfectly and we usually hit a little bit better than we did, so when we do hit, those scores will keep getting higher.
