SPRINGFIELD, Ma. (March 19, 2025) - Four meets and four season high scores for Georgian Court Acrobatics and Tumbling who continue to improve. This week, the Lions were in a tri meet with American International and Stevenson, defeating both. The Lions set another season and program high scoring 210.175 points, blowing past the previous high set just last week.

The Lions got off to a good start in the compulsory. GCU scored 5.90 in acro, 9.10 in pyramid, 8.60 in toss and 2.0 in tumbling for a 25.60 total, one of the best total scores for the Lions this season. American International competed in just the acro portio scoring 3.50 while Stevenson totaled 21.85 for the event.

Georgian Court really shined in acro where they set new program highs in all three events. Starting with the 5-element, GCU scored 8.95. They then continued with a 6.90 in the 6-element and a 7.50 in the 7-element. They totaled 23.35 for the event, their first time ever scoring 23 total points. American International scored 12.60 and Stevenson 19.50 and through two events GCU led 48.95-41.35-16.10.

The Lions scored better than eight points in all three pyramid heats. They totaled 8.35 in inversion, 8.65 in synchronized and 9.35 in the open for a three-heat total score of 26.35. Another top-three all-time score. American International did not compete in the event while Stevenson totaled 24.95.

At the end of the first half, GCU led 75.30-66.30-16.10. 

The second half started with the toss where again American International did not compete in any of the three heats. GCU scored a 7.40 in both the 450 Salto and synchronized heats and a 7.85 in the open for a 22.65 total. Stevenson led all teams with a 7.75 450 Salto and a 7.65 in the synchronized. They finished with a 6.50 in the open for an even score of 21.90. Through four events, GCU led 97.95-88.20-16.10. 

Georgian Court set one new heat record in the tumbling event. That came in the quad pass where they scored a 5.55. They started tumbling with a 7.25 in duo and a 6.0 in trio. Moving into the individual passes, GCU scored a 6.725 in the aerial, 8.325 in the 6-element and a 6.675 in the open for a 40.525 total. American International scored a 16.725 in three of the six heats while Stevenson totaled 30.675.

Heading into the team event, Georgian Court led 138.475-118.875-32.825.

And what a team event it was for the Lions. GCU crushed their previous team-high score with a new record 71.70, bettering the record set last week by 8.46 points. That pushed them to a final score of 210.175. AIC did not compete in the team event so their total remained at 32.825. Stevenson scored 60.15 in the team event for a final score of 179.025

Georgian Court has two meets left, both at home. First up is Long Island University next Friday,
