Bridges Breaks Career Scoring Record in Win at Felician

RUTHERFORD, NJ (March 22, 2025) - It was a great day for Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse who improved to 2-0 in the CACC with a 14-8 win at Felician. A big reason behind the win was the play of Brett Bridges who scored six times and set a new Georgian Court career scoring record in the process.

How it Happened
• The Lions offense controlled possession totaling nearly 50 shots with 26 shots on goal. Felician managed just 26 with 14 on goal. 
• Faceoff numbers were nearly even with GCU winning 12 and the Golden Falcons 14.
• Turnovers were a big plus for the Lions who forced 21 while committing just 11 themselves.
• GCU was a perfect 22-22 on clear attempts while Felician was 11-15.
• Power play units were good for both sides. GCU was 1-1 with the extra attacker and Felician 2-3.
1st Quarter
• Felician got up early, scoring the first two goals in the game. The first came just 56 seconds into play.
• Doug Mackenzie got the Lions first goal at the 8:48 mark of the first.
• Felician answered, but GCU rallied late in the quarter.
• Harrison Jordan made it a one-goal game with 1:08 left in the first and Brett Bridges tied it with seven seconds left to play.
2nd Quarter
• Jordan's goal late in the first set the Lions off on a 6-0 run.
• GCU started the second scoring the first four goals.
• Millan Webster gave GCU their first lead, 3-2, after more than five scoreless minutes of action.
• Mackenzie added another shortly after. 
• Midway through the frame, Neil Spira and Bridges scored less than a minute apart.
• Felician stopped the run with a man-up goal, but Bridges again scored in the final minutes and GCU was up 8-4 at the half.
3rd Quarter
• After the first two quarters saw six goals in each, the scoring slowed in the third.
• Bridges scored twice for the Lions to get them to double-figures.
• Felician's Finn Crocker cut the lead in half, 10-5.
• Neither team was able to find the back of the net for the final eight minutes of the frame.
4th Quarter
• Felician made it a game scoring two and getting back to within three, 10-7, still with nine minutes to go.
• Webster and a man-up goal from Mackenzie pushed the lead back to five.
• Leading by four, GCU put the game away with two goals in the final two minutes. Matt Dorrian collected his first and Bridges added another for good measure in the 14-8 win.

Lion Stat Leaders
• Brett Bridges totaled seven points with six goals scored.
• Doug Mackenzie scored three times and added two assists.
• Millan Webster scored twice.
• Harrison Jordan dished out three assists and scored a goal.
• Daniel Devitt was 10-18 on faceoffs and picked up seven ground balls.
• Malik Alzubi grabbed six ground balls and caused three turnovers. 
• Joe Murphy added three caused turnovers as well.
• Vincent Burkhart made eight saves to get the win.

For the Golden Falcons
• Connor Langdon scored two goals with two assists.
• Ethan Todner scored twice as well.
• Finn Crocker picked up three points with a goal and two assists.
• Jayden Rios was 14-25 on faceoffs with 11 ground balls.
• Nick Grebe made 12 saves.

News and Notes
• Brett Bridges is now the Lions all time leading scorer. He stands at 108 career goals breaking the record of 106 set by Michael Ventresca in 2023.
• Harrison Jordan scored his 50th career point.
• Vincent Burns played in his 40th career game.
• Vincent Burkhart won his 25th career game.
• Georgian Court improves to 6-0 all-time against Felician.
• This was the first time this season Georgian Court was perfect on clearance attempts.
• GCU's 48 shots match a season-best. It's the third time in nine games GCU has taken exactly 48 shots.

• Georgian Court plays their final nonconference game of the season Wednesday. They host Molloy March 26 at 4:30 pm, following the GCU women's game.
