LAKEWOOD, NJ (APRIL 10, 2025) - Georgian Court competed in their final meet of the 2025 season. Billed as the CACC Cup between the Lions and Caldwell, the winner earned a trophy at the end of the meet for a new tradition between the only CACC and New Jersey schools that offer Acrobatics and Tumbling.
The Lions put together their best meet of the season and in program history, scoring 216.150 points, their most ever, but came up short to the Cougars who totaled 228.425. Georgian Court set new program records in four different events and nine heats.Â
Georgian Court got off to a great start. They scored 28.40 points in compulsory, their highest ever. Â Part of the reason for for scoring a record 9.40 in the pyramid and 3.90 in the tumbling heats. Georgian Court also scored a 6.75 in the acro and an 8.35 in the toss. Caldwell though got out to a lead after one event scoring 33.10 points. They had a big advantage in the tumbling scoring 7.30 points.
Moving into acro, Georgian Court got started with an 8.40 in the five-element and a 5.10 in the six-element. They finished strong scoring 8.20 in the seven-element, their highest ever, fot an event total of 21.70. Caldwell totaled 23.50 in the event, scoring at least 7.70 in all three heats and led 56.60-50.10 through two events.Â
Georgian Court finished the first half with an outstanding performance in the pyramid. They set new high scores in all three heats. Â It started with a 9.20 in the inversion. They followe that with a 9.45 in the synchronized. They continued to up their score with each heat, and finished with a 9.70 in the open pyramid. That gave them an event total of 28.35, which is also a new all-time high score. It was the first event of the meet the Lions outscored the Cougars. Caldwell totaled 27.60, but still led 84.20-78.45 after the first half.
The program records continued to fall as the second half started. The Lions set new highs in two of the three heats and matched a high in the third. Starting with the 450 Salto Toss, Georgian Court scored an 8.65. They scored an 8.15 in the synchronized and matched a program record scoring 7.95 in the open toss. GCU outscored Caldwell in two of the three events, but the Cougars still extended their lead. They scored 25.10 in the event to GCU's 24.75 to lead 109-30-103.20 heading into the tumbling event.
Caldwell was able to pull ahead in the tumbling event. They scored 44.075 for all six heats. Georgian Court scored 40.850. The Lions got off to a good start in the synchronized passes scoring 7.40 to the Cougars 6.25. That was the only heat GCU scored higher than Caldwell. Georgian Court finished the synchronized passes scoring 5.25 in the trio pass and 5.0 in the quad pass. The individual passes saw
Louanne Legregin scored a 7.60 in the Aerial Pass.
Kathryn Santise scored an 8.05 in the six-element and
Allie Pompliano a 7.55, just short of a program record, in the open pass. Heading into the team event, Caldwell led 153.375-144.050.
Georgian Court topped themselves once again in the team event. They scored a 72.10, their highest ever. Caldwell though put up a 75.05 in the event and finished the meet on top, 228.425-216.150 to be named the first ever CACC Cup Champions.Â
Both teams scored much higher than the first time they met in February. Georgian Court's score tonight would have been enough to win the meet two months ago. In that meet, Caldwell was victorious 201.75-199.71. Georgian Court bettered their score from that meet by 16.44 points.Â
The Georgian Court Acrobatics and Tumbling season ended as a tremendous success. The improved on their all-time best score in four of six meets, finishing at 216.150. That is 35.67 points higher than their highest score from their inaugural 2024 season. Georgian Court also won three meets during the season.
