• There were 32 combined hits and 21 runs. Georgian Court picked up 18 hits and 12 runs while Caldwell scored 12 runs on 14 hits.

• That failure to score came back to hurt them. In the third, Caldwell scored three times, all three runs unearned and took their first lead, 4-1.
• The poor defense continued, this time from Caldwell and Georgian Court took advantage. They scored six in the fourth, getting RBI hits from Kaylin Curro, Cheyenne Jackson and Brooklyn Ragland to get back on top, 7-4.
• Caldwell got back to within one, 7-6, in the fourth as another GCU error allowed two more unearned runs to score.
• A sacrifice fly from Ella Moore gave GCU a little cushion with an 8-6 lead.
• The Cougars got the run back but had a chance to regain the lead. Trailing by one, 8-7, with the bases loaded and one out, GCU got through the heart of the order getting a pop up and a strikeout from the numbers three and four hitters to hang on to the one-run lead.
• Another Ella Moore sacrifice fly in the seventh gave GCU a two-run cushion going to the bottom of the seventh.
• Caldwell had no quit and scored two runs with two-outs to tie the game and send it to extras.
• In the eighth, Georgian Court did damage with two outs. Gabriella Aleman gave the Lions the lead with a single down the left field line and Moore drove in two pulling a double to left.
