Women's Lacrosse Begins Postseason Journey at Home vs. Holy Family

LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 24, 2025) - Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse is moving past the regular season and into the postseason. Round one of the CACC Tournament starts Saturday.

Previously vs. Holy Family
• Wasn't very long that these two teams met. They closed out the regular season with a 13-9 Georgian Court win Wednesday afternoon. 
• At one point, Holy Family led the all-time series 9-7.
• But Georgian Court has won 11 straight over the Tigers and now lead 18-9.
• During that 11-game winning streak, GCU has outscored the Tigers 197-65. They've allowed 10 goals just once and scored at least 13 in all 10 games.
• This is also the third straight season these teams have met in the CACC Tournament. Georgian Court is 2-0 with wins in 2023 and 2024. 
• Last season, Georgian Court defeated Holy Family 20-8 in the regular season and 20-4 in the postseason.
• That postseason game saw the Lions shutout the Tigers in the second half, 10-0.
• Gianna Nardini scored a game-high five goals. Isabel Raimondi totaled six points. 
• Raimondi scored nine points in the Lions win earlier this week as the Lions pulled away late and survived a bit of a Tiger push in the closing minutes. 

Last Time Out 
• Georgian Court finished the regular season with a 13-9 win at Holy Family.
• The Lions scored the first four goals, but Holy Family was able to cut the lead down to two, 5-3.
• GCU scored six of the next seven goals to pull ahead for good, despite the Tigers scored three goals in the final four minutes.
Isabel Raimondi scored nine points and became the program's all-time points leader. 

Individual Milestones 
Nena Menard is three ground balls away from 40.
Isabel Raimondi's next game played will be her 75th, just the sixth Lion to ever play in 75 career games.
Madison Battle needs three caused turnovers to reach 50 and three ground balls for 60.

Who's Hot?  
• Caitlin Petrellese continues to fill the stat sheet. She has at least three goals in five straight games with 26 draw controls, 14 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers in that span.
• Isabel Raimondi has 44 points in her last five games. 
• Madison Battle has a ground ball in six straight games.
• Gabrielle Battle has 14 points in her last three games.
Jill Konschak has at least two draw controls in six straight games. 

CACC Leaders
• Isabel Raimondi is in the top five in goals, assists and points. She's in the top-15 in the country in assists and points. 
• Caitlin Petrellese is tied for third in draw controls.
• Petrellese is also seventh in goals scored and third in ground balls. 
• Nena Menard is fourth in the league in free-position percentage. 
• GCU's ranks fifth in scoring offense.
• They're third in draw control percentage and fourth in free-position percentage. 

CACC Postseason Picture
• At 6-3, Georgian Court secured the No. 4 seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament. 
• The top six teams all make the postseason with the top-two receiving byes to the semifinals.
• Dominican and Jefferson finished as the 1 and 2 seeds.
• Wilmington is the No. 3 seed and hosts Bridgeport in the opening round. 
• The opening round winners advance to the semifinals Tuesday, April 29. The winner of Georgian Court and Holy Family will play at No. 1 Dominican. 
• The CACC Tournament Championship game will be hosted by Georgian Court. That was predetermined before the start of the season and takes place Sunday, May 4. 

About the Opponent 
Holy Family Tigers
• It's been an interesting season for Holy Family, who earned the No. 5 seed in the CACC.
• They've beat up on the lower teams in the CACC, but haven't gained much traction on the top-tier teams.
• They're 6-9 overall and 5-4 in the CACC, playing to a 3-6 record away from home.
• The Tigers are fourth in the league in draw control percentage. They're also third in fewest turnovers per game.
• Rianna Shields leads the team with 42 goals and 19 assists.
• Defensively, Payton Pugh and Tori Wolstenholme have combined for 55 caused turnovers, 67 ground balls and 104 draw controls.
• Nicole Wiser has seen the most action in goal starting 11 of 15 games, but has just a .286 save percentage. Tiger goaltenders are saving just 31% of all shots on net this season. 
• Wiser started on Wednesday and made 10 saves, her second most this season and most in a conference game.
