Women's Lacrosse Battles Dominican in CACC Semifinals

LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 28, 2025) - Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse has made the CACC Semifinals each year since joining the CACC in 2009 (aside from 2020 when there was no postseason due to COVID-19) and this season is no different. The Lions are back in the semis taking on the top-seed in the field tomorrow afternoon.

Previously vs. Dominican
• It wouldn't be a stretch to call the Chargers the Lions biggest rivals over the last couple of years.
• They've met in the CACC postseason four times since 2019 and 2025 marks the fourth straight postseason meeting. 
• All-time GCU leads the series 18-8, but Dominican has fared better of late, winning five straight.
• That includes a 13-8 win in last season's CACC Championship game, and a regular season win this season. 
• This is the Lions second trip to Orangeburg this season. They did not fare well earlier in year, a 21-5 loss to the Chargers.
• Nena Menard scored three of Georgian Court's five goals and also won three draws. 

Last Time Out 
• Georgian Court got all they could handle in the opening round matchup with Holy Family.
• The Lions raced out to a 10-3 lead and seemed to be in control.
• Holy Family outscored GCU 8-4 in the fourth and cut the deficit down to just one goal in the final two minutes.
• Looking to tie, Nena Menard made the game saving play, causing a turnover and Georgian Court never lost possession, running out the clock in a 14-13 win.
• Menard's heroics also included a game-high seven goals to lead the Lions. 

Individual Milestones 
• Nena Menard is three goals away from 40.
• Isabel Raimondi's next game will give her a share of the lead for most career games played with 76.
• Madison Battle needs one caused turnover to reach 50 and one ground ball for 60.
• Michaela Scirrotto is one draw control shy of 40. 
• Natalie Moradian is six saves away from 200.

Who's Hot?  
• Caitlin Petrellese continues to fill the stat sheet. She has at least three goals in six straight games with 31 draw controls, 19 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers in that span.
• Madison Battle has a ground ball in seven straight games.
• Jill Konschak has at least two draw controls in seven straight games. 
• Nena Menard scored a career-high seven goals against Holy Family in the CACC Tournament Opening Round. 
• Addison Rivera has seven ground balls and seven caused turnovers in her last three games. 

CACC Leaders
• Isabel Raimondi is in the top five in goals, assists and points. She's in the top-15 in the country in assists and points. 
• Caitlin Petrellese is fourth in draw controls.
• Petrellese is also seventh in goals scored and second in ground balls. 
• Nena Menard is fourth in the league in free-position percentage and is 12th in goals scored and ninth in ground balls. 
• GCU's ranks fifth in scoring offense.
• They're third in draw control percentage and fourth in free-position percentage. 

CACC Postseason Picture
• At 6-3, Georgian Court secured the No. 4 seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament. 
• The top six teams all make the postseason with the top-two receiving byes to the semifinals.
• Dominican and Jefferson finished as the 1 and 2 seeds.
• Wilmington and Georgian Court both advanced meaning all the top seeds are in the semifinals. 
• Georgian Court plays at Dominican and Wilmington is at Jefferson with the winners heading to the CACC Tournament.
• The CACC Tournament Championship game will be hosted by Georgian Court. That was predetermined before the start of the season and takes place Sunday, May 4. 
• The CACC Tournament Champion receives the CACC's automatic bid to the NCAA Regional Championship. 

About the Opponent 
Dominican Chargers
• CACC defending champions Dominican are looking to repeat.
• They finished the regular season 9-0 in the CACC and are 16-1 overall. 
• Playing at home, Dominican is 9-0. They've also won 15 straight since a loss at Florida Southern.
• Dominican is a very sound defensive team. They're allowing just 4.76 goals per game, which is the best in the country. 
• Don't sleep on the offense though which is scoring more than 18 goals per game, which is also top-5 in the nation. 
• They also do an excellent job of holding onto the ball. Their 11.00 turnovers per game are the fewest in Division II.
• Kristinamarie Kaszovitz, the graduate student goalkeeper, has a 5.92 goals against average and 47.2% save percentage.
• Madelyn Grella is the leading point scorer with 146. She's scored 66 goals and dished out 80 assists.
• Dominican leads the CACC in draw-control percentage at 64.1%. They also lead in clearing percentage at 91.4%.
• Jenna Rigo and Sydney Strohmayer pace the defense. They have a combined 76 caused turnovers. 
• Grace DeStasio has scored 72 goals on the year.
• The Chargers have 16 seniors on a very veteran roster.
