Women's Lacrosse Picks Up Second Shutout, Blanks Post 22-0

LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 5, 2025) - Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse made quick work of Post Saturday morning, The Lions got the running clock started in the first quarter and were well on their way to a 22-0 win over the Eagles. The win pushes GCU back over .500 in league play at 3-2 in the CACC.

How it Happened
• The field was completely tilted towards the Lions. That was aided by winning 21-of-25 draw controls.
• Post managed just five total shots while the Lions rattled off 36, putting 28 on goal.
• GCU forced Post into 22 turnovers as the Eagles were just 6-18 on clear attempts. The Lions were 14-15 on clears and lost the ball 15 times.
• Georgian Court had a successful day on free-position shots going 5-7.
1st Quarter
• The Lions were unstoppable at the start scoring seven times in the first five and a half minutes.
Gabrielle Battle got it going less than a minute in followed by a pair from Isabel Raimondi, one on the power play.
• Seven different Lions scored in the opening frame.
Caitlin Petrellese, Emily Smith, Jill Konschak, Michaela Scirrotto and Nena Menard all got in on the action as the Lions led 10-0 after one.
2nd Quarter
• The offensive onslaught slowed down a bit in the second. GCU didn't scored for the first six minutes.
Cadence Gentile made a save on a free-position shot to keep the 10-goal advantage and the running clock.
• GCU then struck quickly scoring two more just 2:09 apart.
• Petrellese and Battle each added what turned out to be the only goals in the quarter. At the half it was a 12-0 GCU lead.
3rd Quarter
• The second half started with someone in the penalty box for each team.
• After the Lions penalty expired, Smith scored again woman-up on a free-position shot.
• Battle scored another at the 12:13 mark before neither team scored for the next seven minutes.
• Menard broke the scoring drought with 5:03 left to play in the period.
• Raimondi added another and Battle scored another with just two seconds left before the quarter expired.
4th Quarter
• It was another five-goal quarter for the Lions in the fourth.
• Raimondi scored again. One of five different Lions to score in the period.
• Konschak, Menard and Scirrotto all tallied a goal and Breanna Upton scored her first of the game to cap the scoring at 22-0.

Lion Stat Leaders
Isabel Raimondi scored four goals and dished out eight assists for 12 total points.
Gabrielle Battle scored four times on four shots.
Caitlin Petrellese added three goals, three ground balls and three caused turnovers. She won seven draw controls as well.
Nena Menard won 11 draws while also scoring three times with four ground balls.
Jill Konschak scored three times with four ground balls.
Michaela Scirrotto picked up six ground balls and caused three turnovers while scoring two goals.
Cadence Gentile got the start and played the first half making two saves.

For the Eagles
• Aviana Ramos made four saves in goal.
• Lauren Bain got the start and made two saves.
• Tymmarie Grom caused four turnovers and picked up two ground balls.

News and Notes
Michaela Scirrotto scored her 20th point.
Caitlin Petrellese scored her 60th point.
Jill Konschak picked up her 30th ground ball.
Isabel Raimondi moved to sixth all-time in goals at GCU. She also moved to second all-time in total points. 
Gabrielle Battle surpassed 20 goals and 40 points.
• This was the Lions second shutout win of the season. The only other time the Lions have had two shutout wins in a season was 2007 when they had three shutouts.
