Three Games Await Georgian Court Volleyball This Weekend in PA

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Sept. 18, 2025) - Georgian Court Volleyball gets back on the road to play three games this weekend in Pennsylvania.

How to Watch
• This weekends games will have live stats available on the Georgian Court schedule page. 

Previously vs. Queens
• These two teams met just 10 days ago. 
• GCU swept the Knights in their home opener, 25-23, 25-21, 28-26.
• The Lions hit .227 and were led by Ava Churnesky's 17 kills.
Genesis Simanca had a 14-kill, 16-dig double-double. 
• Georgian Court has won five of the last six matches and are 10-8 all-time against the Knights. 

Previously vs. Southern New Hampshire
• These teams last played in 2023 and GCU is 1-3 against the Penmen.
• Prior to 2023, the last time they met was back in 2016.
Iciar Zayas and Carmen Rivera are the only current Lions who played back in 2023. Zayas had 27 assists in a three-set loss. It was Rivera's first collegiate game and the Lions season opener. 

Previously vs. East Stroudsburg
• Georgian Court and ESU have met each of the last two seasons. 
• The visiting team has won each of those two and the teams are 2-2 against one another.
• Last year, Georgian Court got swept at home. All four matches in this series have been 3-0 victories.

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court opened up conference play Wednesday night against Wilmington.
• The Lions took set one, but fell in five sets, 3-2, to the Wildcats. It was Georgian Court's first match beyond three sets this season.
Genesis Simanca led the Lions with 19 kills and 19 digs.

Individual Milestones
• Carmen Rivera needs 19 digs to get to 800. 
Genesis Simanca needs 25 kills to reach 100.
Amber Gallo is 14 digs away from 50.

CACC Stat Leaders (as per NCAA statistics)
• Iciar Zayas is second in the league averaging 9.35 assists per set. Her 215 total assists rank second as well.
• Carmen Rivera's 4.65 digs per set ranks third.
• Ava Churnesky is third in the CACC with 3.78 kills per set and fourth at 4.00 points per set. 
• Genesis Simanca is fifth in both kills per set at 3.41 and points per set at 3.80.
Amber Gallo ranks eighth in aces per set averaging 0.60. 
• As a team the Lions are third in the CACC assists per set and kills per set. 
• Georgian Court is also third hitting .159 as a group.

Weekly Awards
• Iciar Zayas was named the CACC Setter of the Week this week. She averaged 11.2 assists per set with seven service aces.
• It was Zayas' second career weekly award.
• Also earning a weekly award was Ava Churnesky who was named the league's Rookie of the Week.
• Churnesky averaged 4.50 kills per set while also picking up 2.63 digs per set. 

About Queens
• Since losing to Georgian Court last week, Queens has gone 2-2 with wins over CACC foes Chestnut Hill and Caldwell.
• Overall, the Knights are 4-5 on the season. They're just 1-3 playing outside of their home gym.
• A year ago, Queens finished 19-13 with a 9-3 conference record before falling in the ECC semifinals. 
• Queens lost a lot of fire power from the 2024 team, but their leading point-scorer, Kendall Conrad, is back in the fold along with Lindsay Osterhoudt who was the Knights leading blocker a season ago.
• Konrad is again leading the team in kills with 98. Kylynn White is the leading point scorer with 92 kills and 29 service aces. 
• In nine games, Queens has 60 blocks on the season, averaging more than 0.5 blocks more than opponents this year.

About Southern New Hampshire
• It's been a rough start for Southern New Hampshire who are 0-7 thus far and haven't won a set.
• They are last in Division II averaging just 5.9 kills per set and with a .017 attack percentage. 
• In four of their seven matches, the Penmen have hit below .000, while opponents are hitting .307. 
• SNHU has four with more than 20 kills, but Sophie Chevalier's 26 leads the team, and noone is scoring more than 2.0 points per set.
• Their allowing nearly four service aces per set and 1.7 blocks per set. 

About East Stroudsburg
• The hosts will present a tough matchup for Georgian Court. They're 6-2 this season having won four in a row.
• This will be the Warriors first home games as well.
• ESU is hitting .215 this season as a team. 
• The Warriors are fifth in Division II putting back nearly three blocks per set. 
• They're also 12th in aces per set at 2.72. They don't have one outstanding service specialist, but seven Warriors have at least six aces on the season.
• Anna Coulter is scoring 4.74 points per set and has a team-leading 86 kills and 43 blocks.
